“Dominik,” I say, trying to lift his face back up. “We need to go. Who knows when they’ll be back.”
“Where would we go?” he asks angrily.
I pause and think for a moment. I’m sure that Eurus and Zephyr might welcome us back, but there’s no telling how long we’ll need to stay with them. I briefly consider Magnus, but the fact that he lives in a cave is unattractive in the long term.
“Can we try the city?” I ask him.
He glances up at me and then sighs. “All my riches are gone. No one would accept our stay.”
I smile and pat his arm. “I’ll work something out, promise. Let’s at least give it a shot.”
Dominik concedes, transforming back into a dragon. I climb atop him and we set off. Thankfully, the city isn’t far from the castle, and we arrive before the sunlight has fallen. We stop in the woods, allowing Dominik to transform back and don some clothes, and then we head into the city.
