Chapter 11_ The Nature Family

She was looking for Farris but she kept on bumping into the wrong people. It was Amadio and Luna who were in the very large sitting room, unboxing the boxes of loads dropped in by Fender and the other help they rented to unpack their luggage in the new house.

Amadio and Luna were a thing. Amadio was this silent and observant kind of person while Luna was very outgoing and friendly. The bond they shared was as strong as their personalities were distinct. Luna was a female original dog while Amadio was a male original goat. They both spend most of their time together and they do things together too.

" Well, if it's not Rune.." Luna beamed when she set her eyes on her.

She tried to smile back at the woman but she had a more pressing situation disturbing her " Hi Luna, where's Farris?" she quickly asked.

" What about the plants?" Amadio questioned her instead.

Well, the man was an original goat so, she is not surprised he loved anything that grows in the grass and that he calls flowers plants.

As if Luna heard her thoughts.. " Flowers" she corrected her lover and as usual he was silent but when he saw Luna's scolding face, as if she was expecting him to affirm the correction, he dropped his shoulders.

" Whatever you call them. Just make sure to return so much back to nature for giving us a lot" he started.

Arghh..!

He was going to start his nature preaching sessions again, oh please!

" Where is Farris?" she asked again, cutting him off.

Luna frowned disapprovingly at her. The woman liked to act older because of her looks even though none of them were older than the other. They just age faster than one another. " Farris is outside making sure the luggages get in safely but I think he was rather using that as an excuse. The man won't give himself some rest, he's worried about the wild again. I mean, we just got here, they couldn't have discovered us so fast could they? Did you not see him?" Luna finalized after providing unnecessary information she didn't ask for.

Rune knew that about Farris already.

They all did.

Farris was an over-thinker and always on the lookout for them and the wild. Man is grumpy, that's why he has been single all his life.

" I didn't see him, Luna. I was in the garden so, I came in through the door on the other side of the house" she grumbled at the talkative Luna. If she had seen him would she have asked?

Luna now returning to the unboxing task she was previously engrossed in shook her head " Okay young lady, go find him in front of the house by the lift truck" she said.

Young lady?

They were mates for the lord's sake! She only had the ability of aging slower than the others,

Without saying no words, she jogged outside and saw Farris right where she had left him previously when she came out with her twin.

His bald head which was shining thanks to the rarely-seen sunshine of the winter which was rubbing its rays on his black skull.

" Hey Farris" she called out to him immediately she stepped outside and sighted him.

His hands were folded together in front of him but they dropped the moment he heard her voice " What's up Rune?" he answered absentmindedly as he briefly turned to her before he returned his gaze back to its scrutinizing post.

" Come on, be serious with me here. I have a made a grand discovery" she said to him and held his shoulders.

He was the one she was the most closest too after Calliope. Calliope was the last and newest member of the group. She was also an original bird but would tend to carefree sometimes and sometimes too serious. We changes personality like a chameleon changes colors.

Her serious tone got Farris and he turned back to her " Hey, okay don't tell me it started again " he said with concern and she saw his brows furrow.

" What started?" she couldn't help but ask.

He swirled his hairless head " you know, the.." he paused.

The..?

Oh! He was asking if her distorted hearings started again. She had that once in a while now. It was one of the symptoms of her diminishing life force " Oh no Farris, it didn't, I'm fine" she held out the paper to him " Someone dropped this" she said.

Farris collected the drawing from her and she saw a short smile form across his face " Oh well, I never knew we had a good artist amongst us. Who drew this? Tell them I said they are good. Is it Calliope? I haven't known her too well, didn't know she draws too" he shrugged and returned the paper back to her.

This man!

She sighed and gazed up at him, now retrieving the paper back into her hand " Well, I don't know who drew it but the boy next door dropped it" she supplied and Farris's countenance changed immediately.

" That nosy bastard!" he groaned and clenched his fists under his chin "I tell you, I noticed him staring way too much the moment I set my eyes upon him. Something is definitely off about him. Let's keep an eye on him. He must be pretending to be disabled. Let's go in first and inform the others" he rushed his words as he started walking closer to Vidal and August.

Vidal and August were buddies and the most unserious members of the family. They always break the rules and would go to random parties and nightclubs and also loved women. They were the king of flirting!

Vidal was an original rabbit while August was an original Pigeon.

" Vidal, August, inside now !" Farris ordered and the two chattering duos turned to Rune and Farris.

" Well, all the luggages has been offloaded now. We'll just send the truck away and come inside" August replied to Farris's call and went ahead to settle the driver of the truck before walking in with them.

" I don't know why Farris made us get so much new luggages when we were going to abandon them when next we run anyway" Vidal complained. He was speaking to August but it was audible enough for them to hear.

" We have to make our moving in as natural and normal as possible. I believe all the residents in this neighborhood would have their eyes on us for now. What family moves into a new house with no property and luggage whatsoever?" Farris tried to reason with them but the two unreasonable fellows wouldn't have any of it.

" I still think that's a waste of so much cash regardless" Vidal complained again.

Rune prefers to stay out of arguments between the unwitty August and Vidal and Farris but she smelt Farris's frustration and she feared he would blow out on these two annoying men if she didn't intervene.

" We have so many of those, cash.. To waste" she threw her hands up in the air.

Simultaneously, " But we should be spending them on better things!" they both said to her and laughed at their clashed words.

" Like drinks" August began.

" And sexy gorgeous female humans" Vidal added.

That's it, these two were hopeless and beyond redemption.

Farris's halted steps made her almost bump into him too " That'enough!" he scolded " We have a more pressuring situation right now!" Farris said rather to everyone's hearing now. They were inside already.

"Okay, okay, no fun" August began again.

" And women " Vidal added.

Luna and Amadio stopped what they were doing and gave them their attention immediately after they heard Farris's raised voice.

Luna started walking towards Farris now " Oh, you are sweating again dear horse. What's wrong this time?" she inquired, and Farris sighed loudly.

Rune couldn't help but to giggle silently. Farris hated it when Luna called him dear Horse but it seemed as though Luna had no desire to stop.

" Where is Fender?" he ignored her and asked Amadio.

" Right here" Fender answered for himself as he came down the stairs.

Farris nodded with satisfaction " And Calliope with Gizem?" he turned to her and asked.

Those two were her people that was why he directed the question to her. Her twin sister and her best friend in the family.

" Oh, they are upstairs I tell you" Fender giggled mischievously while his body vibrated with the motion.

Rune knew of only women giggling and shaking like that but Fender was a woman too in her eyes. He possessed no masculine quality whatsoever except for his manhood which he had carelessly allow her see so many times even though it irks her.

She frowned at him. Whenever Fender was like that, he had a trick off his sleeve and his tricks were never up to any good. " And you couldn't have alerted them Farris called for a meeting before coming down on your own?"

" I only sneak, I avoid getting my nose in others' businesses " Fender twitched his nose and turned his neck to the other side.

Was he acting like a cool person now?

Well, he was far from cool and she was going to remind him " Maybe that's because you are always up to no good except to sneak on others because that's what you rats do?" she threw the sarcastic scorn at him.

" Will you please suspend your cat and rat quarrels to some other time?!" Vidal groaned from behind.

The others were probably used to her, Gizem and Fender's quarrels now. The natural difference between them affected them sometimes and they would argue all day every day in the house.

Farris pleaded with her and she had to comply " Would you please go get them Rune?" he said and she turned to Fender.

" What room upstairs are they in?" she asked as calmly as she could.

" I thought you cats were so cool, why don't you use your elevated hearing?" he scorned.

Just when she was trying to calm her nerves as well as she could!

Luna interjected this time around like a mother " Fender, be nice to the lady and give directions" she smiled. Her favorite thing to do.

" Don't! It was useless of me asking anyway when I can easily locate them on my own" Rune shunned Fender and stormed up the stairs " Stupid rats!" she mumbled as she went up.

" Well, I heard that!" she heard Fender shout behind her and she dreaded the day they would meet the female rat.

One annoying rat was already too much she thought as she climbed the stairs to the second floor. She already heard Gizem and Calliope's breathing coming from there.

But what were they doing together in a room?
