"Have you thought about the chance of this?"

"You are not one to rely on fate, My King. You act more in your interests than anything else."

Jael groaned he was done with this conversation. How could Lord Levaton not see how this was contradicting what he was suggesting?

"My daughter wishes for nothing more than to be marked by you."

There isn't such a thing as unmarking. It is said to be a voluntary decision. Jael didn't think so, not once has he felt the urge to mark anyone.

"Did she put you up to this, Lord Levaton?" He asked with an unblinking gaze.

"No, but a father knows what his daughter wants."

"I am sure," Jael says darkly. "However, I have no intention to take a mate. Now is not the time. As soon as I have a permanent way to deal with the Palers, I shall pick a mate but not before then. Would you decline to help your King simply because of this fact?"
