Fairy 27: Meredy II

Just moments before Zack left. Ultear, a dark wizard from Grimoire Heart. Came to pick up the little girl she had taken in.

At first, the main reason Ultear took Meredy in, was because of guilt, guilt of being one of the few Dark Wizards that attacked her hometown.

Ultear of course was against that plan. But nonetheless, no one listened to her, after all, what kind of place is a Dark Guild? It is a place that don't apply by the rules, and especially in Grimoire Heart, they are countless Dark Wizards that loved to cause mayhem and murder.

Of course, if it wasn't for their nature. There will be no way they can become one of the most powerful Dark Guild in Ishgar. (AN: In the top 3 or 4?)

There only few that can rival Grimoire Heart, not to mention, big guilds like them also have many other smaller guilds as their followers. That how powerful they are, but at the same time, Grimoire Heart is more of a cult then a guild itself.

That is because to Grimoire Heart and many other similar guilds that believed in one person. A person that is known as the Immortal Wizard, Zeref.

(AN: For those that don't know. He is not the final boss… but the main villain of Fairy Tail's canon.)

Even Ultear is no different to the rest of them. Even if she is a victim of Grimoire Heart herself. But has no clue she is at this moment of time. Also seeks for the Immoral Wizard, Zeref as well, as she wanted to reach the same goal as her Master, Hades, the leader of Grimoire Heart. To reach the so-called 'Ultimate Magic World'.

That is why she does everything in her powers. Even if that means using the child she has picked up, Meredy, for her end goals. Even if she unknowingly has feelings towards Meredy, the kind that elder sister will have, to their younger sister will have.

But her revenge against her mother, Ur, clouded her mind. And what followed her is hills of sins she had done in the years all in order to reach Zeref. This is all for revenge for her mother that abandoned her. As well the ones she got to replace her.

But tracking the Immortal Wizard, Zeref, is no easy task. Even her respected Master, Hades never truly fine a trance of him anywhere.

On her way to pick up Meredy from her training. Of course, Grimoire Heart has several training grounds. However, since Meredy is a kind-hearted girl, which barely anyone in Grimoire Heart is not kind-hearted.

It wasn't wise for such a girl like Meredy to train where other Dark Wizards are. In fact, sometimes older or stronger Dark Wizards will attack the younger and inexperience Dark Wizards in the training grounds.

That is why, in order to protect her tool, Meredy, Ultear personally has clean a part of the forest out of monsters and made it possible for Meredy to train there.

Of course, as a tool, and a future Dark Wizard. Ultear has begin to taint Meredy slowly, in order to survive as a Dark Wizard herself, and to become a useful tool that is loyal to herself.

However, when she got close, she sensed someone else. She saw a tall young man, about 1.8m tall, carrying the little girl she came to pick up. Upon seeing this, not only Ultear became wary of the young man. But also, ready herself to attack him, and save the little girl she has been raising as a tool. Or least that is what she told herself, when she spies on Zack and Meredy.

Ultear watches as the young man place Meredy on top of a fallen tree. And begun to give her magical treatment that was oddly took a long time to finished. While also roughing with Meredy's hair to calm her down.

When Ultear sees that, unknowingly she sighed with relief, before she begun to examine the young man before her eyes. And there she saw it, a strange looking guild mark on his right arm. It is a guild that she never seen before, and this made Ultear both wary and curious about this unknown Dark Guild may be.

Of course, Ultear has no clue, that so-call guild mark is in fact Nightfall, since that tattoo only appears when Nightfall enters Zack's body. And Nightfall's mark does look very like a guild mark. It no wonder why Ultear, or anyone that sees Nightfall's mark, will mistake it as a guild mark.

Of course, it be another question, if Zack were to undo his jack's front, and show the Fairy Tail's mark. However, since he closed it, no one will know he is a wizard from Fairy Tail, and in this case, it is very good thing. Since to Grimoire Heart, Fairy Tail just happened to be their sworn enemy.

However, seeing his outside of his body wasn't enough for Ultear. Even if Zack has overwhelming muscles. Doesn't really tell Ultear how strong Zack really is. Which is why Ultear used her own means to sense Zack's level.

And then it happened, as she unintentionally fell to her knees, when she sensed a wave of chaotic wave of magic blocking her from sensing her prey's powers. Of course, the one that sent this wave of magical power was Nightfall.

Of course, Nightfall didn't tell Zack about this, that it has warned the watchful eye, from sensing his magical powers. And just told its master, that it felt a hostie gaze on them.

As for Ultear, the young woman, with her dark purple hair, and red coloured eyes. She stared at Zack, as if he is a monster in human skin. But Ultear's emotions of fear soon faded. Seeing the exchange between Meredy and Zack, as well that warmth smile on Meredy's face, caused Ultear to think of other things, before she waited for Zack to leave, before she came before Meredy.

"Ultear!" Meredy smiled before she run towards Ultear and hugged her.

"How's your progress?" Ultear asked.

"Meredy able to summon up to five tear swords… but still unable to use Sensory Link… or Maguilty Rays…" Meredy looks down saying that.

"I see, it cannot be helped. Your Magic Power needed to be increased more. But I know with your talents, will be able to perform twice as much when I return from my next assignment." Ultear told with a smile, before she strokes Meredy's pink hair.

"Ultear leaving again…?" Meredy said with a sad expression.

"I will, and no, you are too weak to be taken with me. For now, I have some medicine that will increase your magic power. For now, you need better control over your magic power. Wait until you able to summon eight tear swords before tried Maguilty Ray and just another six for Sensory Link.

I already clean the monsters around here, but it wouldn't be long for the weaker monsters to appear again. They will make perfect training targets for Sensory Link and Maguilty Ray when they come. However, Meredy makes sure to stay around these parts, monsters beyond this area are too strong for your current level."

Ultear went with a smile and give Meredy her advice as her teacher.

"Meredy will do that! Meredy wants to grow stronger, so Ultear will not have to suffer any longer!" Meredy said while hugging Ultear, seeing like this, Ultear form a warmth and gentle smile, before she pulled Meredy closer in their hug.

"By the way Meredy, who was that with you?" Ultear asked, trying to get information from her.

"Zack Smasher, he said his name was! He is kind… feels familiar warmth like Ultear when he stokes Meredy's head. Meredy don't think he is a bad guy… is he, Ultear?"

Even if Meredy beginning to like Zack (Brother like way, not romantic way.). If Ultear told her to stay away from him, she will. In fact, if Ultear tell Meredy to kill him, she will as well. After all, to her, Ultear is more important than anyone in this world. Even to the goodwill stranger she just met.

"I don't know… but he healed you, right?" Ultear asked.

"Ultear known…?" Meredy asked in confusion, not remembering her there.

"I was… I was going to attack him. But he had noticed me, he is an interesting one… say, Meredy, how I give you an assignment as well?" Ultear with a wicked smile.

"Really!? If Meredy can help Ultear, Meredy will do anything for you Ultear!" Meredy yelled in joy. She doesn't care about Zeref or the other people in her guild wants. To Meredy, this little dark wizard girl. All matter to her, is Ultear, her second mother.

"Yeah… I want you to…"

Then Ultear begin to tell what Meredy had to do, in order to get information out of Zack. Information such as what guild he belong to, his magic, and other kinds of information that seems useful to Ultear.

Of course, Ultear even planned to get Meredy closer to Zack, so he become attached to her, and use Meredy as a bait to gain a new pawn.

However, unknowingly she has no clue, things will not work as she planned them to be.

Forgot to add this to the last chapter. Just a heads up, just 4 chapters left for me to re-edit in vol.1. Just a warning, Broken Hearts I is over 2,400 words long, and some other chapters also the same. I have no clue how I did it, but I did.

All content the same, just added more in-depth details, and some things that didn't make sense that is in one or two paragraphs, so I had no choice to make those paragraphs 1.5 ~ 2.5 times longer. Which is the main reason why some chapters are over 2,000 words.

Anyway, I wrote this notice on Tuesday, so the re-edited chapters may or may not be out already this weekend. Like I said, they all the content the same, just more in depth, and more readable then before, as well Ezra that b*tch is no longer there, since Erza has found her scammer, beat Ezra out of my fanfic, that's all.
