Seeking Forgiveness

"It can never be enough!" Maggie walked away from Marissa, shedding her own guilty tears. "I know I'm a horrible mother. I know I don't deserve my daughter's forgiveness. I know I wasn't there to protect her when she needed me the most. I don't even know if I can ever forgive myself for all of that. But you..." Maggie turned her vengeful eyes to the sobbing Marissa.

"...you and your family almost killed my daughter. My Ella almost died out of heartbreak. You and your daughter turned her husband against her and made her life a living hell. And for that reason, I can never forgive you. So don't you talk to me about selfishness? You should remove the log of wood in your own eyes before you try to remove the speck in mine." Maggie threw the remote on the table and stormed out of the room.
