Kelly Severide x Little Sister!Reader

You were the littlest Severide, who had just been found, at the moment while Kelly was fighting for custody of you, you lived in an orphanage. Right now, you were playing with the small German Shepherd puppy you had found. You had hidden him in a small section of the basement that had enough room for him to run around and everyday you took him on long walks so he wouldn't get too restless. You spent the majority of your time down there coughing, smelling something like smoke. Suddenly you heard shouting, you began to push the door open, it felt hot. You flinched when you touched the handle. So, you opened the door that led outside, you pushed the door open and were hit with a fierce heat. You stared open mouthed at the fire that was razing the building you called home to the ground. There weren't many children who lived in this building, the five that were left had adoptions which were in the works and had almost been completed. You raced over to where a few of the other children were waiting, the puppy nipping at your heels. Firehouse 51 had arrived at this point and were going in, those who had already gone in had pulled the remaining kids from the burning building.

The cluster of children and the few social workers were being treated by the ambulances that had arrived, you were being treated by Shay while Gabby was treating a small boy beside you. "You okay, kid?" Shay asked you, Gabby looked over at you eager to hear your answer. "Yeah." You nodded, rubbing your fingers through the thick fur of the puppy at your side. "Thought you weren't allowed pets here?" Gabby's teasing tone made you smile. "She's not." Gail McLeod stepped forwards, her harsh tone a contrast to the gentle way Shay was treating the small burn on your hand. One of the social workers claimed that the puppy was theirs they were only dropping in to pick something up and had asked you to watch the puppy.

Soon Chicago PD showed up and began to question everyone, about the fire, what may have started it amongst other things. The other children had been picked up by their adoptive families, the court deciding that this was best. Luckily, your adoption/guardianship with Kelly had been fully completed, so you had moved in with Kelly and Shay, along with your puppy. While Firehouse 51 assisted Chicago PD with their investigation. Facts began to point to Gail McLeod as the person who started the fire for the insurance pay out. This had been a revelation to those involved as no one could quite believe her actions, except maybe Firehouse 51.

You snugged deeper into Kelly's side as you, Kelly, Shay, and the puppy watched movies with the rest of the Firehouse scattered around the room.
