Chapter 294: Birthday Gift (Edited)

After getting the textbooks from the poor clerk, the group quickly left the bookstore, as the resentful look in the clerk's eyes was too uncomfortable.

Once outside the bookstore, the group decided to split up.

The twins were going to go to the Gambol & Japes Joke Shop to buy some merchandise, in their words, to do some market research and study their future rivals in the Weasley Magical Tricks Shop.

"I'm not going to let you two spend your money on those toys!"

Percy, who was in control of the finances, said in a stern voice.

"Oh, my old friend, don't bother."

George gave Percy an uncharacteristic wave and pulled out a bag of money that, from the looks of it, contained no less coins than the one Percy was holding in his hand.

After shaking the bag in his hand, George said with a hint of sarcasm, "We have enough money, and.... we've earned it ourselves."

And then Percy's face got even uglier.

The twins didn't give an inch to Percy and, after a pinch, waved to Fish and left.

Percy adjusted quickly, as he and the twins had been at each other's throats for a long time.

"We should go buy Ron a wand, follow me."

The twins' sarcasm had some effect, and at least Percy had hidden his Prefect dignity a bit, still with a bit of authority, but not as aloof from the others as before.

"Percy still looks better like this nya."

?(●ΦwΦ●)?

Fish may not have been sure what was going on between Percy and the twins, but he could feel the change in Percy's state, and the kitten was very outspoken about his feelings.

"Before Percy looked like an animal transformed by a Transfiguration Charm."

Percy was stunned for a moment, then lowered his head with some embarrassment and said to Fish sincerely, "I'm sorry and thank you, Fish."

"Nya?"

?w?

Fish scratched his head in confusion, not quite understanding why Percy was apologizing and thanking him.

Percy didn't explain, but gestured to Ron and the others with a relaxed look, "Come on."

"Fish is still amazing."

Hermione smiled as she approached Fish, glancing sideways at the still confused kitten, getting more and more adorable, then she remembered her mom's mischievous words and her face turned red again and she hurriedly withdrew her gaze.

"That's right, it was Fish who made Percy change his attitude so quickly."

Ron smiled back and walked over to Fish's other side and draped his arm around his shoulders, his expression proud.

"You're forgetting Miss Penelope."

Ginny added slowly, causing everyone to burst into laughter.....

Only Fish looked confused.

(?w?)

What are they talking about? the cat doesn't understand anything!

"Do you want to buy another wand?!"

An irritated Percy threatened Ron with his wand, and Ron shut his mouth very wisely.

They arrived at Ollivander's wand store laughing and joking, and as they entered there was a silver-haired, silver-eyed Mr. Ollivander at the counter, working on a wand.

"Welcome, little wizards."

Ollivander noticed the commotion as they entered and lowered his wand.

Seeing Fish, Ollivander looked surprised, but soon paled slightly, looking a little nervous, and quickly put the wands from the counter into the box in his hand.

(?w?)

"Fish has learned not to bite the wand nya!"

?(●ΦДΦ●)?

Ollivander's expressions and movements were so obvious, and Fish wasn't the same kitten he had been when he hadn't understood anything, so he immediately understood the meaning of his actions.

"Huh? Hahahahaha... Sorry, sorry, I was too nervous."

Ollivander sighed and apologized to Fish.

Originally, he wouldn't be so rude, mainly because he had heard about what happened to the manager of Flourish and Blotts Bookstore a while ago, so he had a great reaction when he saw Fish just now.

Now that he thought about it ... Fish hadn't caused any trouble at Flourish and Blotts Bookstore, it was the manager's own incompetence, not Fish's.

It was all because that guy made himself miserable when he brought this matter up, which caused him to misunderstand Fish!

Mr. Ollivander kept complaining in his mind about the bookstore manager, as he greeted him with a friendly smile on his face.

"How are you doing with your wand, Mr. Fish McGonagall?"

After apologizing to Fish, Ollivander asked with a smile as he pushed his thoughts away.

"The wand works fine, but it's not as good as Fish's claws."

?(●ΦwΦ●)?

Just as Ollivander was proud of his wand, so was the kitten proud of his claws, raising his left hand and waving it proudly in front of Ollivander's face.

Ollivander: "..."

Knowing that there was no point in arguing with Fish on this matter, Ollivander stifled his desire to do justice with his wand and turned his attention to the following people.

"Looks like the one who came to buy the wand today should be this Mr. Weasley?"

With a brief glance around, Ollivander fixed his eyes on Ron as he remembered everyone else except the freckled wizard boy who hadn't bought him a wand.

"Yes, Mr. Ollivander, this is my brother Ron Weasley."

Percy pushed Ron forward, pushing him into the front row.

"H-Hello, Mr. Ollivander."

The thought of having a wand of his own soon made Ron's mood lighten a little.

Ollivander smiled slightly, he had seen this before, except when Fish had bought his wand, so he said softly, "Relax, hopefully we'll find your wand soon."

He pulled out his magic tape measure, "What's your usual hand?".

"Right hand."

Ron raised his right arm quickly.

"Good, extend it."

The tape measure with the silver scales ran down Ron's body like a snake as Ollivander, oblivious to what he was measuring, moved to the shelves behind him.

"Wands with unicorn hair seem to be a favorite of you Weasleys," Ollivander soon returned with a stack of boxes in his arms and slipped one of them into Ron's hand, "So try this one, hawthorn wood, eleven inches, nice and flexible. "

Choosing a wand was a tedious process, but this time Ollivander's experience paid off and Ron only had to try three or five wands before he found the one that suited him best.

The core of the wand was indeed unicorn tail hair, willow wood and fourteen inches long.

Ron, who received the new wand, was very happy and kept holding it in his hand after leaving the store, playing with it fondly.

"Well, next he'll be buying me a birthday present."

Hermione ignored Ron, who was waving his wand around with a smile on his face, and shyly invited, "Fish, do you want to come with me?"

"No problem nya!"

?(●ΦwΦ●)?

Fish readily agreed, then scratched his head and said, "As it happens, Fish wants to buy a birthday present too."

Hermione's heart pounded, the surprise coming so fast it made her feel a little dizzy.

Then she heard Ron ask carelessly from the side, "Are you going to get Hermione a birthday present, Fish?"

"Nya?"

Fish scratched his head again, pulled the two gold galleons Professor McGonagall had given his out of his pocket, then looked back and forth between them and Hermione, and said hesitantly, "Fish wants to buy Minerva a birthday present nya, if I buy Hermione a present, I don't think I have enough money nya.... "

Hermione who was so happy: "..."
