Chapter 159: Animagus Club (Edited)

Professor McGonagall led Fish through the cat door, then followed a tree lined path and came to a very normal looking building.

"Meow~!"

Turning to remind Fish, Professor McGonagall ran and jumped over the outside wall of the building, and then Professor McGonagall didn't jump over the wall, but stood on the wall and walked around the building.

At her urging, Fish followed her around the wall.

As he finished walking, a strange rippling water-like phenomenon appeared in front of him, followed by a flash of light, and the wall and building disappeared, leaving him and Professor McGonagall in the middle of a not-so-glamorous, but very elaborate and ancient lobby.

Wizards had many different ways of hiding their homes in the Muggle world, and Fish had seen so many different ways to enter that it didn't strike him as such an impressive scene, but rather too cumbersome.

"Here we are," Professor McGonagall said to Fish, transforming back into her human form, "The Animagus Club headquarters."

Fish also changed into his cat-person form, and was held up by Professor McGonagall and walked in.

"Unlike the Animagus Registry, this is a private organization, but it has a much longer history than the Animagus Registry, it has been used as a meeting place for animagus from all over the world for many years, but who built it, no one knows."

As the two walked, Professor McGonagall told Fish the history of the place.

"It is said that an animagus found this place by accident during the Witch Hunt, initially as a secret base for him and a few wizard friends, then over the years it was modified and developed to house animagi exclusively."

"Whether or not they are registered with the Ministry of Magic in each country, they can officially join the Animagus Club once they have been introduced by one of the members and approved by a majority of them."

Professor McGonagall smiled and patted Fish's head, "But that must mean nothing to you, you're so nice."

"Hehe~ (●>w<●)"

Fish rubbed his head happily against Professor McGonagall's palm, confident in his affinity as well.

Walking through the foyer and down a long hallway with various animals painted on the walls, Fish and Professor McGonagall came to a brightly lit room.

There were chairs and couches of various shapes and sizes, as well as cat climbers, haystacks, perches, bird nests, and other animal items, and Fish even spotted a pond about ten feet in diameter dug in one corner of the room.

"All of this was added by the later Animago."

Professor McGonagall presented this to Fish.

In addition to these things, there were two old men playing magical chess in the hall, and when they heard the commotion, they looked up at the same time.

One of them was dressed in a proper suit, with immaculately groomed silver-white hair and beard, and looked like a well-groomed old gentleman, while the other old wizard had a scruffy beard and was dressed and behaving casually.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. McGonagall, you're early this time."

The old gentleman greeted Professor McGonagall with a smile, then turned to look at cat-eared Fish.

"This is the one you call Fish, isn't it? What a lovely boy."

He looked at Fish with a faint look of surprise, but it was quickly disguised and he waved at the two of them.

The other old wizard raised his hand nonchalantly and waved it twice, saying in an American accent, "Good afternoon, Mrs. McGonagall, and the charming Mr. Little McGonagall."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Chase and Mr. Mudge." replied Professor McGonagall, holding Fish's head and having him join her in a slight bow to the two old wizards.

Then she saw Marvin Mudge, opposite the elderly gentleman Jonathan Chase, take the opportunity to surreptitiously move a piece on the board.

But before Professor McGonagall could reveal it, his actions were loudly marked by the pawns.

"You, old man, you cheated again!"

Mr. Chase, who originally seemed very gentlemanly, immediately became enraged, stood up, grabbed Mudge's collar and shook him vigorously.

Marvin Mudge let himself be shaken by him, rolling his eyes and spitting out his tongue, looking like he was about to die, but still stubbornly reached out and grabbed Jonathan Chase's beard fiercely.

"You two old men are almost two hundred years old together, how come the longer you live, the more childish you are?"

Just as the two old men were bickering, someone else walked in. After making a joke, he nodded to Professor McGonagall and Fish.

"Hello again, little man."

The newcomer was someone Fish knew, he was the one who had chased him through the streets with the mean old man.

"It's been a long time, Mr. Orr."

Professor McGonagall had always been very grateful to Mr. Orr, who brought Fish to her, and the two chatted as they watched the play.

Fish, for his part, was puzzled...

Isn't this a cat party? What is this owl doing here?

Just as he was puzzled, he saw Marvin Mudge roar, and suddenly turn into a husky, break free from Jonathan Chase's hand, and open his mouth to bite him.

Not to be outdone, Jonathan Chase transformed into an eagle and wrestled with Marvin Mudge's husky.

"Meow!" ∑(●ΦДΦ●)

Finally, Fish realized that Animagus was not referring to cats that could become humans, but to all animals that could become humans.

The two elders wrestled for a while, then stopped because they were exhausted and both collapsed on the couch, panting and looking at each other angrily, before quickly coming back together with Orr's intervention.

"Professor McGonagall!"

After a while, another young woman walked in, she had pink hair, wore a leather jacket and jeans that were very different from ordinary wizards, she looked like a rocker from the Muggle world.

"Tonks? You're here too."

The visitor was a former Hogwarts student, auror and member of the Order of the Phoenix, Nymphadora Tonks, a shapeshifter.

"I've come to meet the 'born Animagus'," Tonks said, crouching down in front of Fish with a big smile, "You're Fish, aren't you? Hello, my name is Nymphadora Tonks, just call me Tonks, I was a student at Hogwarts too."

As she spoke, she reached out her hand to touch Fish's cat ears, but Fish's head avoided it and the kitten showed his teeth.

"Ha~!" (●``Д′●)

Tonks had no choice but to pull her hand away, but she really wanted to get close to Fish, so she started to change the color of her fur, which caught Fish's attention, and she took the opportunity to get close again....

And was rejected again by Fish.

Not that Fish can't change his fur color, but she wasn't going to let them touch his cat ears just because of this little trick!

Fish bared his teeth at Tonks again and then hid behind Professor McGonagall.

"Minerva, what animal is she, nya?"

Fish asked, pointing at Tonks, who had regained her pink hair and was looking at him regretfully.

"Tonks can't turn into an animal," Professor McGonagall explained to Fish, "She's a bit like you, unlike us, who took a long time to learn the Animagus Charm, she was born with the ability to change her appearance, it's something we call a shapeshifter."

"..." ?︿?

Speaking of which, no matter what Fish's misunderstanding was, he had already reacted at this point.

An animagus, not an animal that can turn into a human, but a spell that can turn a human into an animal.

So.

"They're not cats, are they?"

Fish pursed his lips and lifted his face to look at Professor McGonagall, a pair of cat ears and tail behind him ducked.
