Seeing that Fish liked their homemade gifts, the twins secretly high-fived each other; with Fish as a living advertisement, they wouldn't have to worry about not selling their new product.
"By the way, haven't you two opened your presents yet? Let's see who gave you presents!"
The twins, who had already received their Christmas presents from Fish, urged Ron and Harry, not bothering to reveal the surprise, leaving it up to them to figure it out.
Harry and Ron scrambled to find their own gifts in the pile of boxes, but were also surprised to see a Christmas present from Fish.
"It's from Fish, great!".
Ron pulled the greeting card out of the package, which had the crooked words "Ron, Merry Christmas" and a scarlet cat paw print on it.
Harry had found a similar card in his book.
Ron went on to open the other presents.
The first was a dull fuchsia sweater that all the Weasleys had, knitted by Mrs. Weasley herself, in the same shape as the twins, both with a large initial embroidered on the chest.
Ron didn't seem to like the color too much, however, and kept muttering about it.
Then there were gifts from their siblings, a small mummy figurine from Bill, a dragon scale pendant from Charlie, a complete set of cat-eared hair clips from the twins... and a copy of "Crazy Magic Answers and Riddles" from Percy.
The corners of Ron's mouth twitched twice, then he gave Percy an awkward but polite smile of thanks and tucked the book under his pillow.
This action caused the twins to clutch their stomachs and burst out laughing.
Some of the gifts came from his Quidditch teammates, who gave him Quidditch related gifts, which instantly made Ron feel better.
Some of the roommates also gave gifts, Seamus kept giving him Explosive Snaps, but they weren't limited edition, Dean gave him a painting he had made, Harry and Neville gave him snacks...which was the most common and least problematic gift, and Hermione and Hagrid gave him food.
Harry was next to open his presents, and he received much the same as Ron.
Mrs. Weasley had knitted him a bright green sweater, he received an Exploding Snap from Seamus, a painting from Dean, snacks from Ron, Neville, and Hermione, and various Quidditch props from his classmates.
Instead of food, Hagrid gave him a crudely made flute, which Harry played, resembling the call of an owl.
To Harry's surprise, his aunt and uncle also sent him a gift: a fifty penny coin.
He then passed the coin to Ron, much to his delight, since, through his father's influence, all the Weasley children were curious about objects from the Muggle world, with the possible exception of Percy.
But the most unusual gift of all was the last package Harry opened, in which a silvery-gray, liquid-like thing slipped out and fell to the floor in a pile, glowing brightly.
Harry and Fish had no idea what it was, but the four Weasley brothers recognized it immediately.
"Invisibility cloak, it's definitely an invisibility cloak!"
Fred squealed excitedly, and the other three Weasley's looked excited and incredulous.
Then, as they explained themselves, Harry and Fish finally realized what the shiny silver cloth was.
"The headless hat we gave Fish was just a vanishing spell attached to it, while the invisibility cloak is usually woven from the hair of an invisible beast.... I've always wanted one of these, but they're too expensive."
Fred and George, who had long coveted the invisibility cloak, looked at Harry enviously, and even Percy, who had always been quiet, seemed to grow a little uneasy, glancing from time to time at the silver mass in Harry's hand.
Fish didn't feel anything special, but he was curious to see how the invisibility cloak worked, and if it worked well enough, he could use it to sneak through the trapdoor, avoiding Fluffy.
"Try it on!"
"Yes, try it!"
At the twins' urging, Harry threw the invisibility cloak over his shoulders and immediately found himself floating with his head in the air, when he pulled it up over his head, it disappeared completely.
"Meow?"
Fish twitched his nose a bit, and although the smell was a bit fainter, he could still easily pinpoint Scarhead's location by the scent.
He extended a hand in Harry's direction and after feeling what seemed like a liquid touch, Fish gave a slight tug backwards, followed by Harry's invisibility cloak falling off his body and his body appearing in front of the group.
"No use meow, I can smell you."
Rubbing the invisibility cloak in his hands, Fish liked the touch, but his expression was a little regretful, besides the smell, he could also hear the sound Scarhead made when he moved while invisible, so he couldn't hide from Fluffy.
"Fluffy's nose is much better than mine, and his ears aren't much worse than mine, I can't fool him with this, meow."
But soon, Fish remembered that he had also learned the odor elimination spell and the sound dampening spell, so ... it seemed to work!
"Fluffy? Who is it?" asked the curious twins just as Fish was about to ask Harry to borrow his invisibility cloak, before the conversation was interrupted by his little brother Ron.
"There's a note!" shouted Ron, pointing to the ground, stopping the twins from asking about Fluffy. "He dropped a note!"
Harry picked up the note, which read in fine, circled handwriting that read:
Your father left this for me before he died.
It should now be returned to you.
Use it well.
Merry Christmas to you.
It had no signature, which made Harry feel a little confused.
"What's wrong with you?"
Ron reached out and poked a stunned Harry.
"Nothing, it's just that whoever sent it didn't sign it, he said it was my father's legacy."
Harry held out the note in his hand, Fish glanced at it and instantly cracked the case.
"It's the word of a mean old man, meow, and the greeting card written for me is the same."
"Then there should be no problem, Professor Dumbledore wouldn't lie about this sort of thing," Percy patted Harry on the shoulder, "Since it's your father's legacy, keep it safe, Harry."
Harry nodded and stowed the invisibility cloak in his hands. Seeing this, Fish was in no hurry to borrow it, even if he wanted to use it, he would have to wait until the evening.
Next, the group sorted through the piles of empty gift boxes in Fish's bedroom, and Fish called Comey.
As soon as the elf appeared, he shouted through tears, "Master Fish! Thank you for your Christmas present!"
Comey wiped away his tears and snot with a dirty rag, thanking Fish for the other house elves, incoherently and out of sheer emotion.
Only after Comey calmed down did he disappear with the pile of wrappers in front of them.
"You gave the house elves a Christmas present!"
Several of the Weasleys looked at Fish in astonishment, the idea of giving gifts to house elves had never existed in magical society, especially in pureblood wizarding society, even among the Weasleys.
But they saw nothing wrong with it, they were just surprised at Fish's idea.
"Meow? did Minerva say it was okay to give?" ?ω?
"Of course you can, it's just that few wizards do it." Percy waved his hand dismissively, ending the conversation, "It's almost time to go to the Great Dining Hall, the Christmas feast is about to begin."
"A feast!" Fish immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the door, "Fish loves Christmas, meow!"
