CHAPTER 247: The Duke's Ball 1

The ride to the ball was mostly silent apart from Aurelia complaining to her mother how she didn't give her enough time to get ready. Aella ignored her sister as always and focused her attention on Bane whose eyes were glued to her.

As they got out of the Manduer Estate and headed down the next street to get to the ball, the carriage slowed down a bit as the road got congested due to the amount of people heading to the ball.

Duke Lanard was one of the most influential figures in North Grenol as he served the King directly and commanded a great amount of authority within the Kingdom. He only held his ball once a year and it was the second most attended event after the annual Grenol festival.

Aella peeked outside from the window to see the street decorated with colored candle stands to showcase the celebration going on. Different types of carriages, probably belonging to equally affluent figures from across the country.
