Chapter 94: I don't know if it's a bad thing

Perseus POV

When I got to the castle, there were masses of people outside, reporters, journalist and every sort of race wondering what's going on.

I got inside to see Eleanor beside Valentina surrounded by her most trusted guards as she gave orders to investigate this whole situation and interrogate every single guard to see if they are the real one and where the imposters hid them.

There's an impostor among us...I always wanted to say that.

"Perseus!" Eleanor exclaimed once she saw me

"To think they would attack while I'm here, this is going to be fun as I hunt them down shove their own balls down their thr-"

"Ahem!" Valentina pointed to Eleanor and everyone else, basically saying that I can't talk in my regular style

"Ah, sorry, your majesty."

The 3 of us then were escorted to a private room where Valentina wanted us to discuss something in private.

"Provide a place for us to live." she requested

"Um, say that again?"

"The safest place right now is with you and your clanmates, no one would attack us there until this blows over, you obviously have a secret safehouse in every world for your safety." she said "Am I right?"

"What about yours?"

"Might be compromised, and I rather trust you, so just let us stay there for a couple of days."

"You're really taking advantage of my generosity, huh. But you still need to be giving orders, you know."

"That can be done through video call, I assume your safehouse have devices that can block people from tracing our location?" she asked

"Of course I do."

After they resolved what they need to do for the day, I warped them to my safehouse in this world.

Cordelia POV

The news reached everyone, the queen was under an assassination attempt, no wonder Perseus let quick, as unfortunate that news is. We still had to continue our training, this trip isn't just for fun. We were then brought to this dark forest area in the middle of the night and we each have flashlights in our hands.

I remember this kind of stuff, it was in this manga thing Perseus lend me, a test of courage? But no one is stupid to be scared of ghost when they actually exist in the tower.

And with the existence of gods existing, my universe is crap.

"You task is simple." Craig announced as he hold up a golden nugget "There are many of these hidden in the forest, find at least 10 of them and bring them to me, you are allowed to sabotage your classmates, though...we have hired shadow spirits to also attack you students, that means, if they find an opportunity where you are vulnerable, you might be eliminated."

"I will make sure to bring you back here if I determine that you can no longer continue." Emma reassured "And one more additional rule...no weapons and offensive and defensive spells."

It was then met with complains since giants and orcs would have the edge due to their large size and weight class, the faeries are at a total disadvantage.

"Of course, movement magic and support magic is allowed, but no defensive or offensive spells, orcs are allowed 1 magic accessory and that mean giants will have the most advantage, but still please be careful of the shadow spirits, they will hurt you...a lot." Emma advised with a scary smile

"Not just that." Craig chuckled "There are a few other class in this forest as well, their aim is the same as you, to collect these gold nuggets, if our class earns the most nuggets at the end of the day, we'll get half a day off, as the person with the most will get a whole day off, this doesn't apply to Perseus of course."

As much as I would like to team up with the others, I think it's better to do this assignment solo, Acacia is definitely trust worthy, she has her high pride and being a traitor to her own words would hurt herself more than anyone, but that means she will be an easy target.

People would try to team with us and even with my arguments, it would just makes me look bad as she will win and get the possible traitors in the team. Besides, I kind of want to train on my own and handle things properly, Perseus said that some floor ascension can only be done solo, and these kind of training should be good for me.

And it wasn't long till I met one of the hired mercenary who jumped at me with a dull steel blade which I dodged to the side.

Once he got pass me, I spin and swept his legs, these mercenaries are probably prohibited from fighting with their full speed and abilities anyway. But in the corner of my eye, I can see that his lade is embedded with one of the gold nugget, but before I can do anything, he got up quickly and dash at me again.

"Alright, remember Perseus' lessons, kick them in the crotch till they can't have kids, that's the main weakness." I said aloud

And that shock the mercenary a bit as one of his hand unconsciously went to his crotch as I charge at him, unlucky for him, Perseus' advice was to say the most absurd and stupid things possible and shock them, in the moment of hesitation...

I got close and gave the man the best hit to his jaw and spun with my heels connecting to his face and knock him to a nearby tree, he is out cold.

'Just say that, and trust me, unless they're me, these kind of things is not in their training, they would unconsciously try to reach for it the very least.' he said 'Mind games is important.'

There wasn't a rule taking that I can't use the mercenaries' weapon, so I picked them up and take out the gold nugget and placed them in a small pouch that the instructors handed out earlier since putting it in our ring or storage space makes it impossible for sabotage and theft.

I'm becoming more and more like him by the day, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
