MY SISTER

RISSA POV

I grabbed all my clothes from my wardrobe, shoving them inside my trunk in a hurry. My hands trembled, but I didn't care if I was being rough with my things. There was no time for neatness, no time to fold them properly. I needed to hurry. Arianne needs me. My sister needs me.

The words echoed in my mind, pushing me faster as I tore through my room, throwing everything into the trunk without a second glance. My heart pounded in my chest, wild and unrelenting. She had always been the strong one, the one who stood firm even when everything crumbled around us. But now, it was different. Now, it was her who needed someone, and I couldn't fail her.

I yanked open a drawer, pulling out the last of my things—scarves, socks, the little things that wouldn't really matter in the bigger picture, but I stuffed them in anyway. I couldn't leave anything behind. What if she needed something, something that only I could bring?
