Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Jamie has a strong intuition. In his past life, success wasn't just about being smart; you needed luck and good instincts too.

The first time he meets Hanako and walks into the club, Jamie feels something is off. His brother is sharp—he should have noticed too—that this girl is manipulative.

Jamie lets her know he can speak Japanese. Whatever her plans were, they might be delayed now. But he still doesn't get why she was hiding something so obvious.

Playing dumb is Jamie's defense in situations like this. He has a plan to move forward and live his life, but dying pointlessly isn't part of it. Kim Jamie won't die without a fight.

His brother abandoning him in this mess caught Jamie off guard. He knows they don't care about him. He realized that on the first day he woke up in this world. Trusting them feels like a mistake, and the shame makes him sick.

So when Hanako pulls out a gun and smirks at Jamie, he doesn't react. He knew she would eventually show her true colors—dark and ugly.

"Hahaha! Wow! I can't believe this is so easy. Damn, Kim Jamie-ssi. Your brother's a psycho for leaving you here with me!" Hanako laughs hysterically.

"What is this all about?" Jamie asks, his blank stare annoying her, though she keeps grinning.

"You know, I've always hated the Dragon mafia. They ruined my life and trapped me here!" Hanako shouts like she's lost her mind.

"You said my brother accepted you," Jamie responds, his eyes cold. Hanako scoffs, still aiming the gun at him.

"I did, but I want out! Who in their right mind would stay in this hell? A rich boy like you wouldn't understand." Hatred fills her eyes.

"I told you, I'm not part of the Dragon mafia."

"So what? You're here, healthy and smart. Your blood's worth a lot of money." Hanako sneers at him.

"You're the one who made a deal with the Virgo gang," Jamie mutters, just loud enough for her to hear. The room feels heavy, and Jamie senses the woman's evil intent.

"Oh, Jamie-chan is smart," Hanako says, impressed.

"Yup. I sell girls here to the Virgo gang. Doesn't matter how old—they pay good money for pretty faces like yours." She chuckles. Jamie feels sick, either from her wickedness or because no human could be this heartless.

"What do you want from me?" Jamie asks, his voice empty, giving her no satisfaction. Even when cornered, Jamie refuses to give in.

"Oh, nothing much. I know you were useless to the Dragon. Your family doesn't care about you either, but... I can still use that pretty face of yours. The bidders will love a half-blood *bitch*."

Jamie frowns, not wanting to show any emotion, but he can't help it.

Hanako notices and shakes her head, playing with her gun while mocking him.

"Let me make it simple. Half-blood means you're an illegitimate son of Kim. Even though you're not pure blood, they still value your lineage. I'm going to auction you, honey. Those sickos love people with interesting backgrounds. Whether they make you a slave or worse, I don't care. As long as the money's good."

"Kun won't miss you either. He knows this club is a wreck, but he doesn't care. He left you here like you mean nothing to him. Son of a bitch! After all I've done, he doesn't care. I thought we had something." Jamie watches as her excitement fades into insecurity. She's delusional.

"So, to sum it up: You're a crazy woman who likes my brother, but he doesn't care about you. Now you're mad, made a deal with Virgo, and sell innocent people for revenge. You got his attention, but you're jealous because he wasn't cold to me when we first came here. And you've been tracking his schedule, hoping he'll care."

Jamie smirks slightly, his blonde bangs falling over his brown eyes.

"You also had a shipment ready, but Kun ruined your plan by saving those girls in the hospital. You tricked him into thinking you needed help, and he left me here to assist you. But now you're pissed because your business is falling apart."

"Shut up, you useless piece of trash! Don't act smart—it won't work. You're going to be my muse—"

"No thanks," Jamie cuts in, rolling his eyes. He sits back in his chair, staring at her with nothing but emptiness.

"Should I just shoot you? You're pissing me off." Hanako mutters, her eyes losing focus. Jamie watches as she spirals into madness.

Jamie has no idea how to save himself. He's unsure if his brother meant for him to handle her or if it's just bad timing that her craziness showed today. Either way, Jamie's no crybaby. He'd rather get shot than be sold to those bastards. Hanako is pitiful and delusional, but Jamie knows he needs time—or an opportunity—because saving himself is his top priority. He doesn't expect his brother to come for him.

Even if it means killing her... Jamie will do whatever it takes to survive.
