Threat to Existence

"I hate you, you are a monster!" She yelled from behind, a flood of tears started to gather in the back of her throat.

For some reason the words chained around his feet, rooting them to the spot but he didn't turn around. It wasn't something new that he had heard about him but coming from her, it was new. Why? He had no idea. 

"Right, I am, so don't test my patience." He tilted his head sideways and then marched out of the room, not forgetting to lock the door. 

That particular room was built for his father's sister who had lost her mind after she lost her husband and child in an unfortunate set of events. She had become popular by the title of the 'mad princess' and it was also said that the room was still haunted by her ghost because she died in there. Obviously, he didn't believe any of that.
