Chapter 161: Dinner (2)

Tsunade quickly arrived at the gate to the Senju compound not long after the end of the meeting between the leaders of the White Lotus.

The decision had been made for the group to simply await the final decision of Hiruzen, after which they would decide their course of action.

Tsunade then noticed someone approaching, though a slight amount of sensing allowed her to realize that it was simply Tobirama, though she did wonder what he was doing out so late.

"Have you picked up Grandpa's habit of gambling? I'd hate for Grandma to nearly kill another Grandfather of mine for nearly losing the Deed to the house." Tsunade said with a small smile on her face.

"Even I'm not foolish enough to invoke the wrath of Mito. Though I assume you wish for your whereabouts to remain just as secretive as mines was. So how about we simply head home?" Tobirama said before he and Tsunade headed towards their home.

They arrived to see Mito and Ayako setting the table while Haru and Ashina sat in the living room with all of the kids.

"I'm glad to see that you two could join us. Now I can have the full family here for dinner for once." Mito said, though Tsunade slightly flinched, knowing she was likely referring to her.

Her position at the Konoha Hospital had led to many late nights for her, and her break from it seemed to be a blessing in disguise.

"Sorry." Tsunade mumbled slightly before she assisted Mito in finishing setting the table.

It was just when Mito was about to begin placing the meal on to the table that a knock was heard at the door.

Tsunade went to the door and opened it, with it being Jiraiya there as he stated that he had forgotten to return one of Tsunade's Fuinjutsu scrolls form when she was teaching him.

"Oh, Is that Jiraiya? Come on in! We have enough food for you as well." Mito said with her Grandmotherly smile shining with a certain aura that made Jiraiya feel that he would be unable to refuse.

Therefore, he was forced to join the family of 10 at their table, allowing them to enjoy the homecooked meal.

"How was your day, Naruto?" Tsunade asked with her motherly smile showing, one that Jiraiay couldn't help but take a small glance at.

Tsunade had told them about Naruto once she returned to the Village, though she had only stated that she found him on her mission in Roran and had chosen to adopt him.

He couldn't come up with an argument to fault her, seeing that he had adopted the three orphans from Amegakure and had been raising them as Konoha Shinobi since the end of the Second Great Shinobi World War.

"It was great! Granny Mito taught me some new Fuinjutsu and even let me use one of them! She also said that she would teach me the Gravity Seal tomorrow." Naruto said with excitement and joy in his voice.

Under the care of his new family, Naruto had been able to leave his previously near-malnourished state and clothing, adopting a look that Tsunade deemed befitting of the Prince of the Senju.

He had also increased his skills in such a short time, able to fully showcase his talent once he had individuals fully devoted to training him while also giving him the warmth and love that he had always wanted.

Jiraiya perked up at hearing this, sensing this as a chance for himself to grow closer to the boy that he felt a slight connection to due to Tsunade.

"Perhaps he can go on a mission with Konan, Yahiko, Nagato, and I. I'm sure he will enjoy being able to work with people his own age an-" 

Jiraiya's words were cut short as he felt 5 pairs of eyes lock onto his body, each emitting a horrific amount of chakra and murderous intent as if daring him to finish his sentence.

If not proven in the past, the idea was amplified further currently. That is there is only one thing more terrifying than raging Tailed Beast, and that is angry Grandparents.

"I-I mean, perhaps he come with us in the future. He still has to finish his training right now." Jiraiya laughed as the pressure on him decreased, making Tsunade simply smile in amusement at them.

"Perhaps you could take the kids to the park tomorrow, Uncle Tobirama. They would love to spend time with you." Kuna said as she finished her second serving and went back for thirds.

Nawaki and Kushina's eye's widened in delight, the two 5 year olds both excited at the prospect of being able to visit their favorite place.

"Of course. Anything for my grandchildren." Tobirama said, though, with his bland and expressionless face, his statement seemed quite contradictory

The table then spread into many different conversations, with all of them making a lively and bright atmosphere surround the table.

Mito watched all of this in a mood of pure bliss, with the happiness she felt at seeing her entire family making her feel as if her entire life was worth it.

However, it was at this time that an unseen guest decided to make its presence felt, as the being inside her flared its chakra simply to ruin her mood and spite her.

She was able to suppress the beast in a quick manner, before any of her family members could notice and ruin the good mood that they had.

However, Mito didn't realize just how terrifying Tsunde's perception had grown, nor the small frown that came to her face.

'It seems that I and the Kyubi need to have a heart-to-heart talk.' Tsunade thought, determined to take care of the issue with the Nine Tails now.
