When wrong feels right

[Minutes before the present time]

Luca smiled at Xander who was sitting opposite her. She reached for the glass of champagne, raising it over the table for a cheer. It was morning when Luca came, but now, it was dinner. To be fair, she couldn't remember how the day went by because everything felt like a blur. 

All she remembered was humoring him, watching movies with him, and just simply spending a lazy day with Xander. That's all his plan to let her rest and give her peace after the funeral; a break she deserved. 

It was nice and sweet, if only there was no hidden agenda behind it.

Now, here they were, having a candlelight dinner prepared by Xander himself.

"I must say," Luca mused after placing the glass to the side. "This experience was far more relaxing than that vacation."

Xander chuckled charmingly. "I am honored."
