Theo glared down at the vampire prince with a smug, satisfied smirk. Cora had just sent Grayson flying through the air as if he were a rag doll. And it was a good thing, too, because Theo was about to go chasing after them in his fur if he had to watch the two walk off together for a second longer.
"There is something wrong," Grayson said, ignoring the wolf and brushing himself off.
"What do you mean?" Penelope asked, glancing between Grayson's concerned expression and her daughter who was now face to face with the Camazotz.
"She is a royal," he said.
"She can't be," Theo growled.
"She is. She has the black veins. They sprouted from her eyes when she became impatient with me. We are the only ones who have that. I am willing to bet that she has wings, too. She is just not aware of it yet."
"But it wasn't completed," Zane said. "The ritual wasn't completed. I saw it. We both saw it."
