The morning meeting was over, and as for the meeting in the afternoon, Yves did not plan to attend. He needed to continue his research; if the meeting was just to talk about trivial matters, then it was better for him not to come.
Since the meeting had ended, Yves walked up to a certain lady to say hello and, of course, flirt. "Hey, gorgeous. Are you Peggy Carter?" Yves greeted with a smile.
Hearing someone calling her, Peggy stopped and turned around. "Yes, I'm. Do you need anything, Dr. Yves?" Peggy greeted back with a smile.
"Oh, that's okay. I just wanted to say hello, it's rare to see a strong women like you, so I'm a bit amazed."
"Are you free this afternoon? I'd like to invite you to eat together." Yves sincerely invited Peggy. Since Steve and Peggy's future relationship will not be fruitful, it's better to take over, hehe.
"It would be my honor." Peggy nodded. In the country she currently lives, it was normal for a man to greet and strike up a conversation with the opposite sex.
Romance is also highly encouraged in France. No one will be able to resist meeting a young and handsome man.
"My pleasure. Let's go then, I know a French restaurant nearby. They say the food there tastes good." Yves made an inviting gesture.
The secretary went to the restaurant to order food first while Yves and Peggy walked slowly together.
"Miss Peggy, may I know why you joined the military?"
"You don't need to call me Miss, Dr. Yves, just call me Peggy, it's okay." Peggy chuckled.
"I joined the military because my parents served there. I also wanted to prove that women are equally capable and virtuous." Peggy said with confidence.
"Haha, alright Peggy. You can also call me Yves." Yves nodded.
"I also agree with your opinion, men and women are actually not much different, both are equally capable."
"And you are one of the people who can prove it, Peggy." Yves said with a smile. Although he wanted to flatter, there was no denying that Peggy was indeed a capable and talented agent.
Besides complimenting Peggy, Yves also wanted to win her heart. And sure enough, Peggy's happy smile proves that his compliment worked.
Arriving at the French restaurant, it looks very formal and has a romantic atmosphere which is perfect for couples on a date.
Yves and Peggy took a seat by the window, where they could enjoy a good meal and see the bustling scene outside.
"It's very busy here." Peggy looked out the window wonderingly.
"Yes, this place is very busy indeed. But crowded and prosperous places sometimes invite crime." Yves said as he looked at the woman.
"You're right. By the way, what do you think of Nazi soldiers?" As a military enthusiast, Peggy loves talking about topics like this.
"The quality of their soldiers is outstanding, the leadership of their generals is also good. They also frequently update their tactics for future wars." Yves answered neutrally. Nazi Germany's military was indeed amazing.
"Hmm? Can you talk about it in detail?" Peggy became more and more interested. There was a chance she could use this information; after all, France would soon face a German attack.
"Sure, but before that, order some food first. We can talk slowly later." Yves would not be too hasty, first arouse the opponent's interest, after which he will bite!
Peggy nodded, patiently ordering some of the dishes she liked.
"Dr. Yves, you seem to know about a lot of things." Peggy deliberately added the word 'Dr.,' seemingly wanting to keep her distance from the man.
"Not really, I just want to learn more about the industry I'm interested in, the rest is just information I happen to learn. It's just a hobby after all."
"Seeing that you're so interested, let me ask you, Miss Peggy. What do you think of the much-vaunted Maginot Line?" Since Peggy wanted to play, Yves would, of course, follow suit. He wouldn't mind adding words of honor to her.
Hearing the other party mention the famous line of defense built by France, Peggy wore an expression of pride as if it was built by her own country. As a military enthusiast, none can make her happy more than knowing there's a solid defense that can hold against the opposition.
Many military experts say that the Maginot Line will never be breached! Unless the Nazis have greater technology, basically, the Maginot Line is invincible!
"The Maginot Line is one of our pride. Although it has not been completed, it is enough to face millions of Nazi troops head-on."
"No one can break through it. Besides, there are all sorts of facilities inside, even if surrounded, there are supplies that can keep you alive for two whole years."
"With such a large number of trenches, no matter which country's army, our soldiers will be impossible to catch. This is one of the greatest achievements of this century!" Peggy said with a beaming face, pride evident on her face.
Hearing Peggy's praise, Yves could only sneer inwardly. Indeed, the Maginot Line is one of the greatest masterpieces of this century, a masterpiece full of ridicule and failure!
Wait until the Nazis bring France to its knees. Maginot Line? That joke won't stop them!
