"Eat shit trash!"
A red-haired boy hissed as he stomped mercilessly on Junya's head against the curb.
"I bet your parents killed themselves because they couldn't stand an ugly bastard like you".
Junya grasped his bleeding face while he weakly tried to push his aching body off the ground. The strong metallic taste of blood seeped into his mouth.
Its familiarity mirrored the vigorous bullying he experienced daily.
"You haven't even unlocked your Elo Command and yet you're still top of the class, fuck that's annoying". He ranted, clicking his tongue. "You should drop out of school and take some pathetic behind the desk work or something, you're really making my class position look bad. If you were gone I would have been in the top ten you fucker"
Ughh!
A low grunt leaped from Junya's mouth as he received yet another blow to the stomach.
"Not in the mood to talk, eh? I don't mind that. In fact, it's one of the things I admire about you the most. You know how to take a good beating like a good bitch! Bahahaa"
They continued to assault him while their merciless laughter filled the air.
After hurling strings of racist comments and degrading profanities, they poured their remaining soda into his graze wounds, creating a piercing pain that spread across his face.
The bullies, who Junya referred to as 'shits' in his head, walked away laughing to themselves with a smug smile that spread from ear to ear.
This had been a continuous ritual for him considering he was the only one in his class to not yet unlock his Elo command.
As he agonizingly sat his aching body up, Junya felt defeated 'Why does it have to be this way? Out of the 6 billion people left on this godforsaken planet, why do I have to be the one who's trash? Am I really lacking something that these idiots have? Am I just going to waste the life my parents sacrificed to give me?'
The image of his parents' last moments flashed in his head, reminding him of their sacrifice for his sake.
'Out of the 8 billion people that were on the planet, why did they have to die! Why couldn't there be someone else to offer themselves.' Junya slammed his weak hands on the ground, making them bleed.
He gripped his fist even tighter out of frustration, then relaxed his palm dejectedly.
'I'm getting too old for this shit!'
Bullying was something that happened to smaller children, but Junya was 18 years old and still suffered from it.
Ever since the Eve of chaos, Junya had been under the care of the Bureau of Mob Annihilation. They provided him with accommodation and a monthly allowance.
This was the benefit he received since his parents died in the line of duty.
They were a military couple and were deployed during the Eve of Chaos as cannon fodder to suppress the enemy. It was 13 years ago making Junya only five when he lost them.
After a few more minutes of lamenting he wiped his tears when the bell rang.
'I should get to class. At least she will be there.'
Junya's mood elevated when he thought of his friend. Tucking his shirt back into his pants, he marched back to class without bothering to clean the blood from his face.
As he trudged back into class, his recent wounds were overlooked by the staff. The lack of worried glances grew ever-present with the regularity of the beatings he received it seemed.
However, the status of his assailant was considerably the largest factor in the dismissive stares.
Russel Brook is the son of the well-renowned Mobster, Grant Brook. D- Rate Mobster was defined as the strongest within their sheltered town, standing up to Brook was guaranteed failure. Thanks to this, many found it easier to turn a blind eye to Junya.
"Alright everyone, Class is starting..."
The teacher called while signaling for the class to be quiet.
The classroom was fairly small with a single working fan in the ceiling and light that flickered occasionally. Its two windows provided ventilation to the room along with some natural lighting. The desks were doubled, to save money, so everyone sat with an assigned partner.
This was the only time of the day Junya never minded, class time.
His reason soon came through the door, and in never-ending grace was the girl of his dreams.
She had long blue hair that cascaded down her back. Her brown khaki uniform fit her perfectly showing her beautiful proportions. Her strides were normal, but Junya imagined her in slow motion as she walked toward him.
The girl looked at Junya with a frightened expression and quickly pulled a wipe from her bag. She hastily sat and began dressing his wounds "Why do they keep bullying you like this? Don't they have anything better to do?"
"I don't know, but those bastards will get what's coming to them. Just watch! I'll unlock my Elo Command and become a Mobster, I will provide, avenge my parents and we can live a happier life" Junya declared seriously before chuckling awkwardly.
Imani blushed as she continued to treat his face wounds. "Don't worry about me, I will always be by your side. Let's just focus on graduating first"
They both giggled before Imani laid a kiss on his forehead, his wounds started closing at a rapid pace visible to the eye. Imani had the blessing of a Healing Spirit, granted this, it made her rather popular.
It was obvious to many that they were not simply friends which unfortunately made Junya an easy target. However, Junya's conviction was strong, he had his eyes set on being a Mobster.
He really liked Imani, she always supported him every chance she had even when he was bull-
Er-hem!
The teacher cleared his throat which prompted all the student's attention. Imani and Junya, stopped staring at each other, realizing people were giving them weird glances, while other students gag mockingly.
"Before we start today's lesson I have to inform the class that there will be a trip"
The class started to discuss enthusiastically the announcement immediately.
"Calm down, aren't you all too old to be excited over trips?" The teacher shook his head before continuing.
"Since you guys are finished with high school, those who unlocked the Elo Command have the option to become a Mobster and luckily for you, the school will help you with that process.
If you're over level 3, that means you are strong enough to register as an F Rate Mobster, so take the time to think about your future"
"What about the trip?" someone piped up.
The teacher nodded," This trip is not for fun, we are going to the Berger Town's reinforced walls"
As the teacher continued, everyone's face froze and a hush fell over the class.
"We will watch different Mobs and perhaps even take a close-up look at a Mob ourselves. There will be other Mobsters there to protect us and educate you all on the danger of each Mob so don't worry much, Grant Brook, Russel's father will also be there.
This will help you in case you want to become a mobster now, or If you wish to seek further education. Remember that you can travel to other Sheltered State if you become a strong Mobster, but leaving one is prohibited without proper document and reason"
When students heard this their eyes lit up.
This was especially true for Junya, it was his goal to move to a bigger sheltered state considering it was one of the places where civilization was still completely intact, there were even rumors that it had hotels and condos and complete roads.
The teacher smirked at their surprised faces in satisfaction.
"Now let's get on with the class, Today we will talk about Eve Of Chaos"
The topic was well received by everyone else except Junya. His previous enthusiasm vanished, and his face became frozen in a grimace. The memories of that night would come back to haunt him.
"Hey, It's gonna be fine, I'm right here" Imani smiled reassuringly while she interlocked his hands with hers.
Junya nodded while the teacher pulled down a TV, inserting his flash drive.
"This is one of the few videos taken of the Eve of Chaos, It will show the great battle that humanity fought to a draw"
