Chapter 2 - Step by Step

Kaito and Roswaal were flying for a while until they reached the house. In the garden, Emilia was already worried about the noise she heard not recently.

Seeing that Kaito was coming, Emilia rushed to him without hesitation, giving him a hug, even though it was the first time she did this kind of thing and she did it unconsciously, she didn't have time to think about it since she was really worried about Kaito.

After Kaito made everyone enter the house, Roswaal told him more about the candidacy and also that he could do whatever he wanted when he was Queen.

After the two finished their little interaction they followed Roswaal towards the entrance of the Mansion.

With a light knock from Roswaal on the door the three of them waited for a few minutes until it opened. The sight that greeted them was a young girl in a maid outfit, with short pink hair, eyes of the same color, beautiful white skin, and an expressionless look on her face. Seeing her, Kaito recognized her immediately as she was one of the two Onis sisters, Ram.

When she opened the door, her expression didn't change much when she saw Roswaal, but after seeing that he was accompanied by two people, her expression changed slightly.

Since behind Roswaal was a young man in black and white clothes next to him was a young Half Elf. Looking at them for a few seconds, Ram narrowed his eyes slightly but then he fixed his gaze on Roswaal and greeted him as usual.

"Mr. Roswaal, welcome."

"Thank you for having me, you are as attentive as always, Ram." Ram just nodded without any change in her expression.

Realizing this situation, Kaito was surprised for a few seconds until he used his ability and learned why Ram treats Roswaal this way.

And it is that at this moment Ram is not like in the main story in the field of his feelings for Roswaal, rather he hates him and is a little grateful. Hatred for killing all his family and thanks for saving them from the Witch Cult, though apparently that thanks is mild and Ram must resist the urge to beat Roswaal to death when he sees him.

Knowing he wasn't wrong seeing Roswaal's slightly uncomfortable expression. Kaito was waiting to see if another of the characters that will appear later will have some change in his attitude or something else.

Coughing dryly to ease his embarrassment a bit, Roswaal introduced Kaito and Emilia.

"Anyway Ram, she is Miss Emilia… a candidate to be the ruler of the Lugunica Kingdom and the young man next to her is her partner, Kaito."

"Nice to meet you, hope we get along." Emilia said in a shy and cheerful tone at the same time.

Hearing Roswaal's words and the two introducing themselves, Ram was stunned for a while but then nodded to Emilia with a slight smile.

Instead, he just nodded to Kaito the same way he did to Roswaal. Seeing Ram's reaction made Kaito a bit aggrieved for a while since he didn't do anything to Ram and they already treat him just like Roswaal.

Although he knows that Subaru didn't do better at first when he met Ram, however, he doesn't care about that, there will be plenty of time for them to get to know each other and they can get on with their relationship better.

"Okay Ram, take them to one of the empty rooms so they can rest."

"Understood". Responding, Ram gestured for Emilia and Kaito to follow her.

Sighing for this, Kaito appeared in front of Ram, pretending to see him, I jumped a little in surprise. Recovering from his shock, Ram looked at Kaito with a bit of anger in his eyes.

Sensing Ram's gaze, Kaito shrugged and staring at Ram spoke in a serious and sincere tone.

"I know you're worried that he's some kind of threat and trying to hurt your sister or you but…". Kaito paused for a moment in his words seeing how Ram's expression changed when he mentioned Rem. But not wanting her to misunderstand things, Kaito continued speaking.

"Even though I know that by saying this you won't trust me so, I'll show you that I don't have bad intentions towards you, it's more... I'm not like Roswaal." Listening to Ram's last words he couldn't help but tremble a little, not because of the fear but the anger that he felt at that moment. Knowing Ram's thoughts, Kaito continued speaking.

"I'm also not going to meddle in your life or anything, but if you need help you can ask for it and I'll help you without any problem... so for starters let me be your friend."

Saying that, Kaito extended his hand to Ram who remained meditating for a long time, after looking at Kaito and the hand he was holding out, Ram also did the same, shaking hands with Kaito's.

"It's true, I don't trust you, I keep doing it more, but... if what you're saying is true, I don't see the problem that we're friends as long as you have good intentions towards my sister and me, but remember... I won't forgive you if you try to do something against us."Saying that, Ram tightened his grip with the intention of warning Kaito otherwise. But he noticed that Kaito had no movement.

"In a few hours the food will be there so don't go to sleep." Without saying more Ram left Kaito with a smile on his face.

"Even though it's hard, I'll earn your trust." Muttering in a low voice, Kaito entered the room again, thinking that even if it's one of the few times he interacts with someone, he doesn't do anything wrong.

As for his interaction with people in his past life, not much could be said about it, he was not the type of person who liked to start a conversation but of course if someone tries to talk to him he will not refuse.

Not wanting to talk or interact often doesn't mean I'm emo and stuff like that. Thinking about that now, a grimace appeared on Kaito's face, remembering some stories where the female characters fall in love immediately when they see the main character for the first time.

Even in some fanfics or theories similar things happen, but in the end he knows that they are stories and each one tells them as he wants. The point is that right now he is in a real world and he has to deal with things in these matters as usual, although in a different way.

While wandering in his mind, Kaito looked around for a moment, after a few minutes a dim dark blue light covered the room completely. Making it separate from the outside world in a different space.

Nodding in confirmation of what had been done, Kaito got into the lotus position, in order to begin training his skills. Observing his state for a moment, a smile appeared on Kaito's face. He had a breakthrough right now, now he has great control over his powers, plus some Laws which he now controls at a higher level.

Another detail is that its main energy, which is Magic, is evolving to another state and is becoming a new Energy, called Origin Energy. This energy is drastically improving the abilities, the race and the concepts of God that Kaito possesses, in short, it is making him stronger.

All this was possible since in these 4 months he wandered throughout the Omniverse where he is. And from this he extracted the energies that are handled all over the place. At the end of his trip, he waited for a good moment to combine them. And that moment was today, of course it took 2 years directly to do just this conversion.

But it's normal, since it's the first time he's done this kind of thing, of course the time was also shortened thanks to his Bone Manas, his own Spiritual Intelligence which is equal to Ciel, Rimuru's Spiritual Intelligence, well although it is also due to its manipulation of Origin.

"Mr. Kaito, the food is already served."

"Okay, thanks for letting me know and one other thing. Don't call me Sir or something like that, I'm not that old... just call me Kaito."

"...I understand". Without saying much more, Rem nodded one last time to Kaito and walked down the long corridor.

Seeing Rem's back walking away, Kaito remembered how this young man died several times when the Witch Cult attacked the Mansion.

Averting his gaze, Kaito saw the starry sky through the corridor window, for a few moments a slight, extremely powerful aura covered him but it didn't last long.

Closing the door behind him and walking towards the dining room, Kaito decided something, if Subaru shows up he will train him. Making him face the Witch Cult since it is practically his destiny.

However, if Subaru is not able to annihilate the Witch Cult, he will eradicate them from all of this world, even from the entire Re:Zero Multiverse.

In a short time, Kaito arrived at the table where everyone was already there, there was even Beatrice who was caressing Puck while she ate. Meanwhile the two sisters were serving the last things that were missing. Roswaal was sitting with his face in his hands and Emilia was watching as Beatrice was interacting with Puck.

When Kaito arrived, everyone saw him and greeted him with a nod, except for Beatrice, since when she saw Kaito arrive she felt a slight oppression coming from him and she could even feel a familiar aura from Kaito, something similar to a being from long ago.

However, he did not follow through with that and instead continued to play with Puck. Thus the food passed smoothly without any apparent change. Until everyone finished eating, they left one by one until only Roswaal and Kaito remained at the table who were slowly drinking a cup of tea.

When Ram was about to leave after picking up the table, he glanced at Kaito and Roswaal, at that moment a strange light flashed through his eyes, fading away some time later. When Ram left the place was completely silent, neither of them spoke for a while until Roswaal finished his cup of tea and looking at Kaito, he spoke.

"It seems you get along well with Ram."

"If I got along with her, at least better than you." Kaito replied in a rhetorical tone and upon hearing this Roswaal's face turned black as the bottom of a pot, so to ease her embarrassment she decided to change the subject.

"So... do you have any plans next?"

"Absolutely". Kaito said in a flat tone. Not satisfied with that answer, Roswaal asked another question.

"So when you plan to revive...". Before Roswaal's words could finish, Kaito interrupted him abruptly.

"Stop, I know you're impatient to see your Master but first you must help Emilia. How long will your master's resurrection be in 8 or 9 months so stop being impatient, Roswaal."Finishing the last drop of tea Kaito got up from his seat and left the place leaving Roswaal with a sense of loss.

When Kaito left, in the middle of the corridor he found Ram who seemed to have heard everything, of course Kaito is not surprised because he knew it for a long time.

Waiting for how Ram would react, when Kaito got in front of her, she spoke.

"Perhaps... do you know of any way to revive people?" Ram asked in a flat tone trying to hide the obvious emotion from him.

"Yeah... it's not a problem for me to do it."

"Then... you could...".

"Revive your parents?". Before Ram finished her sentence, Kaito interrupted her and listening to what Ram said, he stood there with his mouth open, not knowing what to say.

"If I can do it at any time, just tell me when to do it, as for the reason why I do this you already know."

"What is that reason...?" After recovering Ram responded with obvious doubt.

"We are friends and as a friend I must help you if you are in trouble."Said that, Kaito smiled at Ram who, observing Kaito's smile, suddenly a strange feeling appeared in his heart and at the same time, looking at Kaito's eyes, he could see obvious emotions, in which no trace of malice could be seen. .

"....Thank you". Ram said in a lowered tone in which no one else would be able to hear her except Kaito.

"Hahaha, you're not one to thank people very much seeing your expression." After hearing Kaito's words and his laugh, Ram looked at him for a second and then huffed angrily and left the place.

Seeing Ram's departure, a feeling of accomplishment filled Kaito's heart, since apparently his relationship with Ram improved and he is on the right track.

"Apparently, in this new life I will change some things."

Looking at the stars in the dark sky Kaito looks forward to the next things that await him in this world.
