Tension 4

The Cadillac that Ryan was driving arrived in front of a motel quite far from the area around Madison Square Garden. Ryan parked the car and looked at Matthew and Lily in turn.

"Once again, I apologize to both of you. I didn't mean to hurt you," Ryan said.

"I know," said Matthew.

Lily nodded in agreement. "I'm sure you did that without a second thought."

Ryan nodded his head. "I'm not ready to part with you if Matthew takes you away."

"You can be a fugitive like us," said Matthew.

Ryan laughed softly. "If I become a fugitive too, I won't be of much help to you guys."

Lily frowned. "What do you mean?"

"After this, I will leave. If Max asked about you, I would say that we both had a fight, and you left me," Ryan explained.

"Then? Are you going to see me again?" Lily asked.

Ryan looked at Lily with a small smile. "Of course. I'll see you later."
