Civil War Part 16

During the last days Peter Parker had been stressed and vigilant with his surroundings.

The situation after revealing his identity had not gone as he expected and he had to stay hidden with his aunt and Mary Jane to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Every night he had nightmares, where all his enemies found him and he had no way to protect himself against their attacks and disasters occurred.

Sometimes he wondered if it was a good idea to reveal his true identity, the government disappointed him because the supposed help they would give him never came and they did not even bother to know his situation.

He even doubted being in Mr. Stark's group, and supporting the registration act, especially with the Thor clone incident and Goliath's near-death.

The mere thought that it could have been him sent chills down his spine.

But in that matter he was grateful to those people from another universe, because if they were not present things would have taken a very different turn.

He knew a little about their background since thanks to Stark he had access to that information.

And he had to say, that information really surprised him.

Alex Wayne, Governor of Genosha.

Est, a girl with cosmic powers.

Psylocke.

Rogue.

Wanda Maximoff.

Laura Kinney.

And others with unknown abilities.

Just one of them could beat him without being able to have the ability to defend himself.

But he wasn't worried, for some reason his spider instincts told him they were good people and wouldn't hurt him.

Peter Parker stopped thinking about them and went back to concentrating on the main topic.

He had been going into the Avengers database to clear some of his doubts, but was only more disappointed in Tony Stark to discover that he had no access to information relating to something called Project 42. All he knew was that it was a project intended solely for heroes who oppose the registration act.

For that reason he had decided that tonight he would go to discover all that, since he had a bad feeling.

With these thoughts, he headed to the hotel where he was staying to see his aunt and Mary Jane.

Since yesterday he had to stay all day doing his work as a hero since the villains are taking advantage of the situation of the heroes to commit crimes.

And also, though he didn't want to, he helped Stark capture some former fellow heroes.

He was a little tired from all that hustle and bustle, so he's going to take a shower and sleep like a baby spider.

Upon arrival, he knocked gently on the door and a few seconds later it was opened by Mary Jane who gave him a hug.

That hug showed how worried she was.

This made his heart clench, as he knew he was the cause of her concern.

"I'm home" he whispered softly in her ear to calm her down a bit while also hugging her, which worked.

His aunt May also goes out to greet him and when he was going to greet her, at that moment he felt it, that his Spider-Sense tickled alerting him to the danger.

He quickly rushes in to protect Mary Jane and his aunt when a shot rings out.

He was able to get there in time to protect Mary Jane, but due to the distance, his aunt was left unprotected.

Just then, more gunshots continue to be heard as they begin to destroy the room.

Alarmed, Peter yelled:

"Aunt May, where are you?!"

"I'm fine dear, don't worry, this lady helped me" his aunt May said from across the room.

When the gunfire stops, Peters cautiously stands up and realizing the attacker is gone, he sighs in relief and quickly looks around for his aunt.

Only to be shocked to see the person who helped protect her.

It's Psylocke.

"Thank you for protecting my aunt" Peter said very sincerely.

"Don't worry, it's my friend you should thank as she saw that you would be in danger and decided to help you" Psylocke said calmly.

Peter nods, but is still wary because it was too timely.

As Peter had these thoughts, Irene enters the room while dragging one of the men who had been watching the place.

"I already brought one of them, the others escaped but they will lead us to the others involved" Irene said.

Peter is surprised, but when he saw that woman he knew that the Psylocke who helped his aunt is not the one from his universe.

"This girl is my friend Irene Adler and she has the ability to see future events, that's why we knew what would happen today" Psylocke said to Peter, who calmed down upon hearing her explanation.

What he doesn't know is that it was due to Alexa's investigations and Alex's assumptions when he revealed his identity to the public that they knew this would happen.

So after considering it, they used Irene's ability to cover any doubts.

Although in part they used Irene's powers, since thanks to that Psylocke knew that she had to protect only May Parker and Irene was able to block the escape route of one of the attackers and capture him.

"So boy, will you help us catch the ones who wanted to cause you trouble?" Irene asked him with a smile.

"Yes, but I am worried that they will look for my family again, I can't leave them here" Peter answered a little hesitantly, while he looked at Mary Jane and his Aunt May with concern.

"If that's what you're worried about, I can take them to our home, even Sentry couldn't get in there" Irene said while making fun of the golden boy who fought with Alex.

Peter is surprised but grateful, he knows the strength of these people, for which their home is the safest.

Approaching his girlfriend and his aunt, Peter says:

"I'm going out for a bit and I'll take care of this, so don't worry"

"We'll be fine, just come back safe and sound" his aunt said.

"Go get them, Tiger. Kick their asses" Mary Jane said.

Peter just nods his head.

Psylocke approaches them and they disappear from the scene.

Seconds later, only Psylocke appears again.

"So are you ready?" Irene asked.

Peter nods seriously and as he puts on his suit, he says:

"I'm ready"
