[Quincy Archer Hates You Arc] Part 37: Rightarm of the Giant

Hollows were appearing everywhere in Karakura Town, endangering not only Plus souls but living beings as well.

Yato: 'And it's all because of Ishida's stupid pride.' - I thought while running on my bike.

The only good thing about this situation was that I could use my abilities to materialize red threads of spiritual energy to face some of the Hollows that were coming towards me.

From what I understand, the power of these threads can vary according to my will, much like Inoue's powers, which means that they can be highly sharp or not cut at all.

Yato: 'Good thing I'm not as nice as Inoue…' - I thought as I hit another Hollow's mask, making it disappear.

It didn't take long until I saw Rukia running towards me as she used Kidous to attack the Hollows.

Yato: "Rukia!"

I dropped my bike and using Bringer Light I ran towards her to defend her from a Hollow that was going to attack her from behind.

Rukia: "Yato!"

Yato/Rukia: "Are you okay?" - We asked at the same time, which made me stay silent waiting for her to continue.

Rukia: "Well, anyway, what's going on, Yato!?"

Yato: "I don't know, but if I have to guess, Ishida is probably involved."

Rukia: "Damn it, we need to find Ichigo as soon as possible!" - She said as she ran to jump on my back.

I already expected her to do that so I didn't question her.

Yato: "Hold still, Rukia" - It was the last thing I said before using Bringer Light to leave the place and look for Ichigo.

# With Chad and Karin #

The situation was difficult. At first, young Karin was cooperating with Chad, pinpointing the location of the Hollow's attacks, but as time went on, Chad's eyesight seems to have started to adjust, and to keep the young girl out of harm's way, he took her off his back and asked her to leave.

Chad was managing to do relatively well against the creature, dodging and counterattacking the monster.

Despite not having powers, Chad seemed to have enough strength to hurt the monster a little with his punches.

Meanwhile, Karin started to fight with the other kids who were nearby until she got them away from that place. It looked like everything would be fine.

Karin: "Hey, mister! I already got my friends out of here! We can go now!!"

The boy heard the girl's screams but continued to stare at the Hollow in front of him.

Chad: "Hmm…good…now run, Ichigo's little sister."

Karin: "Are you crazy!? You have to get out of here too! Do you really think you can fight this thing!?"

Chad turned to look at the girl to answer but noticed something odd. Something seemed to have moved behind Ichigo's sister.

Chad: 'Oh no…there's another one! And this one seems to be faster…!' - He thought as he ran towards the girl.

Karin didn't understand at first why her brother's friend ignored the monster in front of him to run to her. For a moment, she thought that he had finally come to reality and decided to run away, but, despite the boy's eyes being covered by his hair, the girl noticed that he had a scared expression. It was then that something came up behind her, making her understand the boy's concern.

Instinctively, Karin closed her eyes, waiting for the creature's attack…but the attack never came. The only thing she felt was the sensation of something splattering on her face.

Hesitantly, she opened her eyes and saw that the monster that would attack her now had its teeth stuck in that boy's right shoulder and now Chad was bleeding a lot.

Chad: "Ichigo's little sister…are you…okay?"

Karin: "S-sir!! Your shoulder!!"

Chad: "Hmm…no problem."

Chad was flexing his shoulder muscles in an attempt to keep the Hollow from sinking its teeth further into his body. What Chad wasn't counting on was that the Hollow he'd been fighting earlier…had returned.

The creature raises its gigantic hand to attack Chad, not caring about hitting Karin and the other Hollow in the process and all Chad can do is pull Karin close to shield her from the attack with his own body.

The blow, in addition to knocking the other Hollow down momentarily, caused Chad to be thrown away, having part of his shoulder torn in the process. Karin was still in the boy's arms and ended up being thrown next to him, however, unlike Chad, she was not injured because she was being protected.

Karin: "Mister…! Are you okay…?"

She didn't receive an answer. Chad appeared to be unconscious and with a tremendous wound on his face and shoulder. He was bleeding a lot and everything indicated that he needed urgent medical treatment and even in these conditions, he continued to hold her and protect her.

The Hollows were roaring at each other. The creatures seemed bothered by having their meal taken from them.

Chad slowly opened his eyes and saw that Ichigo's sister was scared and didn't know what to do in that situation.

The boy began to have memories of his grandfather.

# Flashback #

A younger Yasutora Sado was facing a very tall and strong man with gray hair and mustache. The man was called Oscar Roaquín de La Rosa. When Sado's parents died, his grandfather Oscar raised him in Mexico.

Oscar: "Did you fight again, Yasutora?" - He said, placing his hands on Sado's shoulders. His tone didn't sound like he was scolding the boy.

Sado didn't answer his grandfather, just letting a tear run down his eyes.

Oscar: "You hurt those who hurt you...and what's left after that?"

The old man placed his hand on his grandson's head in a welcoming way.

Oscar: "Yasutora, you are strong. You are great. You are unique. You were born with everything most people would have wished upon God. Those who are different are persecuted. I don't know how it is otherwise, but at least in this world that's how it works. However, Yasutora…you must be gentle. Those big, strong fists you have…why do you have them?"

Chad was slowly getting up when he noticed the Hollows approaching.

Chad: 'I understand, Abuelo. My fists weren't meant to cause pain.'

The more he struggled to get up, the more blood from his injuries oozed out.

Chad: 'This big body of mine was made for the sake of protecting others…'

The two Hollows seemed to be fighting over who would get to Chad and Karin first, both preparing to attack.

Chad: 'So even if it's just a little…'

The boy raised his right fist to fight the monsters while trying to ignore the pain in his shoulder.

Chad: 'Please give me strength.'

As the attacks were about to collide, a large blast of spiritual energy suddenly surged, hitting both Hollows and raising a large smokescreen in the process.

Karin, who was watching from a distance, didn't understand what had happened and thought that the creatures had done something, but when the smoke cleared, the opposite seemed to have happened.

The two Hollows had been thrown back and both had serious injuries. The larger Hollow had lost one of its arms while the smaller Hollow appeared to have lost half its body and was lying in agony.

When Chad emerged from the smoke, his right arm had turned into some kind of armor. His arm was black in color with a dark magenta stripe running down the middle of the arm, tapering towards a point that ended at the wrist. The dark magenta band was bordered by a thin white line.

His shoulder flared out a little in an upward extension, parallel to his height. It has an indentation at the top in the middle of the extension, stopping right where the shoulder begins, separating the upper extension in two and there were also two wing-shaped protrusions on each side of the wrist.

Karin: "But-but what is this?"

The boy looked for a few seconds at the shape his arm had taken and without thinking twice Chad ran towards the Hollows, throwing a punch against the bigger Hollow that had risen.

The boy's punch caused a blast of spiritual energy so powerful that it completely eliminated not only the Hollow he had attacked but also the smaller Hollow that was lying behind.

After eliminating the Hollows, Chad turned to Ichigo's younger sister and gave a thumbs up, fainting right after.
