Chapter 84: Contemplation

Ein and Sakura came back to the village, but she was obviously in a bad mood. Though mainly confused and curious about who he is and what is his purpose. She observed him like a hawk, trying to unravel his secrets and mysteries. 'Who is he? A deity? Now, Einheri looks like a normal person that you will see as your neighbor. But obviously he is not normal...' She was agonizing, the gears in her head were spinning as she thought of his powers and appearance earlier.

"Don't think about it too much Sakura, you'll get a headache. Anyways, do you guys have some spare land here? I want to build a house there." 'I need to establish a base 1st, maybe I'll wait for Aponia to come here and then act.' He has no information whatsoever about the world. And he noticed that honkai energy in this era is low. 'Tsk, I feel weak as hell.' He clenched his hand. 'I need to know more... Where's the other chasers, what happened to project S.A.V.E. But just based on what I see, Ember failed and Su can't find anything with Veluka.' He sighed and thought that he will be buried in work once again. Except things would be much harder without the resources of Moth helping him with his endeavors. His thoughts were broken by Sakura.

"Hey, Einheri... Just who are you and what is your purpose in the village, just know that I won't back down if you have ulterior motives." She narrowed her eyes and tensed up once again when she noticed that he went quiet, unlike the 1st time they met. And he was deep in thought.

He gave a wry smile to her and looked up at the sky. "I don't know really... And my friends and comrades are potentially either gone or really far away, I will be staying here for the mean time. They already have a gist of my location, so roaming around is a bad idea."

Her ears twitched at the mention of his comrades possibly knowing this location. 'Are they going to raid this place!? I must warn the village, raiders are common among other settlements and places right now!' The warring states period is quite cruel to the commoners and masses after all.

He heard her thoughts and chuckled. "No. Relax." He shrugged his shoulders and patted her head. "There's no harm that would befall this village. Well, except if someone like Kalpas or Mobius come here." He smiled lightly, thinking that Kalpas might go crazy here with how peaceful it is except the occasional honkai beast attack, while Mobius would bring baits to the villagers and try to involve them in her experiments.

She was still skeptical and narrowed her eyes at him. "Okay, okay. Don't look at me like that, I'll build a fortification here. Nothing hostile will be able to approach this place, there. Happy now? Sheesh, I forgot how suspicious people of this era are of supernatural things." He shook his head and rubbed his temples. "Oh, and so you wouldn't get any weird ideas about me, you can think of me as a guardian deity of the world."

She was surprised about that. Unfortunately, truth is stranger than fiction. And she won't believe him, thinking that he is a youkai or evil god until he proves himself, which is a natural trait of humans. He was already thankful that she wasn't running around the village screaming that he was an evil god that will eat the virgins and kids.

"I still don't trust you Einheri and I will keep a closer eye on you!" She stated as he laughed. "Sure, sure, just don't get too surprised on the things that you will see."

He then disappeared in a burst of speed and went to a deserted place inside the forest a little bit away from the outskirts of the village. He frowned when he saw 3 cocoons of his stem cells activated and took them out again. "Rin... She has bullet holes on her torso, SAKURA's body is messed up from the inside because of honkai corruption. Mei!?" He was surprised, not expecting her to die. Remembering that he cured the scientist of honkai corruption. But her whole body was ravaged by it. "Tsk, she hid it from us huh? And she hid it well."

With his current capabilities, he surely can open them, but he could only heal Rin as it is just physical trauma. While SAKURA and MEI were too damaged, every part of their body was basically mangled. It was irreversible by normal means, he needed abyss flower or to regenerate them cell by cell, especially MEI.

"Damn, MEI would be a big help too. I guess I have to do everything myself for now, hah... It's funny too, you have a doppelganger SAKURA... And she's so strict and proper just like you. She also has a sister named Rin, but I haven't seen her yet. Maybe this is a sign that I have to protect them in your stead? This would be awkward if she saw you later." He chuckled and went back to Sakura who was searching for him frantically.

"Yo." He appeared behind her and greeted with a raised hand. Sakura jumped like a cat that was scared of a cucumber and glared at him while putting a hand on her chest like she almost had a heart attack. "Where did you go!? I need to monitor you well, who knows what kind of forbidden knowledge and plans you have!" She protested at his tendency to irritate her to no end, but Ein just shrugged and ignored her speech. "Well? Is there a place? I need it now, I'll trade some gold or food for it or whatever. Just get me a piece of land, no need for it to be grand and wide."

Sakura sighed heavily and was having a migraine. "Okay. Let us go, and please. Do not disappear again or I will be forced to kick you out of the village." They talked to the village chief and Ein offered tons of grain and wheat for a small plot of land. He only needed a little as the rest of the base would be underground.

The chief quickly shook his hand and thought it was a steal that a moneybag would trade so much. "Haha, my daughter. Take care of this young man, he is kind and generous. There are no problems with his stay here!" The man's eyes were shining with greed as Sakura winced. 'Ptui, what a vile man. For greed, he allowed this suspicious traveller to settle here. Disgusting.' She was spewing venom in her mind. Remembering that he basically didn't care about Rin's condition.

"Ciao. I'll just build a little something." Ein started to walk away and wanted to build a general facility that would help him with reviving the 3. Maybe make a disguise as a clinic or something and heal the villagers with modern medicine which is basically magic. Gaining their trust, he did have his tree here where his parent were buried. And he didn't want to kill them all if they tried anything unsavory against him.

He then arrived at the place and flattened it with gravity. Felling a few trees, he started to process them and made a log cabin. "They'll be suspicious if a japanese styled house appeared here suddenly, besides. This log cabin feels rustic and nice." He then decorated the inside with a bed and some furniture. After that, an area that was for medical procedures and treatment. His 1st profession was being a doctor after all, then maybe slowly expand the fake base above to have trade as well. Explaining that it came from the west from his home town or something like that. "Yosh, guess I'll build a fusion reactor for now." He looked at his inventory but he was obviously missing components. "Hah, Metatron my baby. She made things much easier with automating these tedious stuff. Well, she'll be around in the golden courtyard." He then saw a device with a button labeled order 66. "Hmm, Void archives huh? Well, I'll just have to see who is using you later."

A certain blonde with green eyes sneezed while working on a cure for an ongoing honkai plague that was hidden to the masses as the black plague. "Huh, I did have a bad constitution. Maybe I need to take care of my self just like what she said." The blonde smiled, thinking of the kind holy maiden.

Making nano bots that would take care of the minerals Ein would need and let it ransack the mountains. He then proceeded to widen the underground space needed in accommodating a base. "Sheesh, I'll basically have to make a city below here. Hah, still no rest for the wicked huh?" Continuing his expansion.

The war in the east that Schicksal started against the Ming empire in Shenzou was in a stalemate. They did not expect great resistance against them and was having troubles gaining ground to try and find their target. "Heathens... They are preventing us to our holy land! Call the holy maiden here. We must send her against these heretics!" The Archbishop and current head of the Apocalypse clan barked orders as they locate and summon their secret weapon to fight against the east. The valkyrie order of Schicksal, superhuman women that were trained in an early age that could match dozens of men and knights at combat.

And their strongest soldier, the holy maiden who wields the Oath of Judah. A relic from the past that were gifted to them by the Divine maiden Aponia to further their power against the honkai and heretics. A woman with long white hair in a thick braid then appeared inside the command room. She was dressed as a nun and her blue eyes surveyed the Archbishop, awaiting her orders. (Pic here)

"Your holiness. What is the purpose of summoning me?" The Archbishop closed his eyes and nodded gravely. "Kallen of the house Kaslana, you are the greatest warrior of your clan. A knight that is the strength of Schicksal. Our endeavor to find the holy land is being met with great opposition from heretics in the east. Our lord and savior Jesus (Ahem) The apostle is located there. Join the ranks of your comrades and lead them to victory."

Kallen winced, she didn't like this war from the start and instead wanted Schicksal to help commoners and the masses against the ongoing plague that was ravaging the lands. Claiming lives like wheat as people starve and die from the pestilence. But she had her orders and this is about the apostle that they were waiting for. Their raison d'etre. "Understood your holiness. I shall lead us to victory in the name of god."

The leader nodded in satisfaction. "Good! You leave in the morrow at the crack of dawn. Godspeed knight of house Kaslana." She then left with a heavy heart, not understanding fully on what the church's goals were. They were servants of god and the people are suffering, yet they ignore them. As she started to doubt her faith. "If the apostle is real... I only wish for you to end the suffering in this world." She prayed and hoped.
