Seeing him alone in the kitchen preparing food, Charlotte Cooper couldn't bear it and discussed quietly with Henry Russell on the side.
"Why don't we help him? He must be unable to handle everything by himself. Since we've come into someone else's house uninvited, we should take some action."
Henry felt her point had some merit. It was indeed they who were in the wrong, having trespassed into someone's home.
Without further ado, Charlotte led him to the kitchen, "Do you need help cooking? Why don't we lend a hand?"
Harold Nixon didn't intend to engage with them and just went about his business. As for their help, he still had some reservations – there's no such thing as a free lunch, so they must have come for that job.
Seeing the situation, Charlotte felt a bit awkward and started picking up vegetables nearby, regardless of whether he agreed or not.
