Chapter 25: The Girls' Choices

After our fight with the eagle couple the other day we decided to stay the night at a rest area. Unfortunately the next day it was raining heavily so we spent the day there. I of course was flirting with the women there while Rou made connections with everyone.He even got us a job escorting a merchant. When we were done hanging out it was time for some training. During they were unusually obedient so Rou asked them what's wrong. They embarrassingly replied they were taking advantage of us to get stronger. Two days later we finally arrived at the town Rou planned to release the girls. I could tell that he doesn't want the leave but still wanted to give them the chance to choose. Later after causing a panic because of our arrival we went to the adventurers guild. Once there another panic broke with everyone there attacking. I let out a little roar to immediate them but it made them faint instead.

OgaHou: Wow, back home a roar like that would do nothing.

Rou simply shock his head from side to side with a weary smile and walked up to the receptionist. The receptionist was a pretty girl with short blonde hair and a faint blush on her cheeks. She was out of it so an old man took over for her so she just kept staring at me. With the old man's help we were done with our business alot faster so we headed out. After that I sperated from Rou and took Shera to find something fun to do. We looked around with me disguised as a human of course. During our walk we stopped to eat at a few different stalls and even got her some clothes. Our fun went on until Rou called me back saying we had a job. As for what it was the job simply needed us to find and rescue some girl. A criminal organization had kidnapped her and is now holding her hostage. Once we knew where they were it only took us until dawn to completely wipe them out. Job done we got ready to leave but not before Rou heard the girls answer.

Human Girls: Of course we are going to stay by your side.

Blacksmith: I mean come on who else besides me can put up with the rough way you brothers treat your weapons.

Alchemist: Yeah, Druid and I were working on a new alcohol how can I just leave.

It was honestly heart warming to see that they wished to remain with Rou. Although I pretty much already knew their choice since they told Shera. Drama out of the way we prepared to leave but was stopped by two unexpected visitors. They were the young knight and the girl that we saved yesterday.

Girl: Good morning since I did not get the chance yesterday I wish to offer my thanks. By the way I am the daughter of the first Queen for the kingdom of Sternbelt. My name is Rubilia Eis Fol Sternbelt.

Hearing her introduction Redhead's face went pale from the shock. As for why she was here apparently after our rescuing her she decided to have us be her Bodyguards. At first Rou refused but when the human girls hear about how much the reward is they made him say yes. One hour later at our designated meeting spot we went to find only the little princess and boy knight. They ditched the other guards apparently so with little choice we left for the capital. Our next few days of travel were quite trying thanks to tomboy princess. If she wasn't making demands she was pulling pranks like scaring people. Problem is that she would do that when they were holding a knife. Eventually Rou could take it anymore and spanked her. After that she mellowed out for the most part. Our journey went on with the princess learning how to fight under us.

Boy Knight: Masters the two of you are really strong but use very different ways of fighting how does that work.

OgaHou: The major difference between our fighting styles is that Rou's is focused on killing and maiming the target. While me I am all about defeating a foe under any restrictions. Still it is not like there is no killing techniques they are just only used by experts.

While we were eating some meat we caught I explained to boy knight about why Rou and I teach sperately. However that was interrupted by two crocodiles lunging out of the water. Rou and I made quick work of them. Once they were dead Rou started to eat one while I sat down to meditate. Tomboy princess watched the two of us wondering about something.

Tomboy princess: Why is it that OgaRou eats everything he kills ,but OgaHou only eats every once in a while.

OgaRou: I eat everything I kill because I kill them so it feels that it is only right. By eating them they live as a part of me so at the very least they didn't die for nothing. As for why my brother doesn't eat it is because he doesn't normally need to do so.

It was something we noticed a while back that eating didn't really serve a purpose for me. So long as I meditated my hunger is near none exist but that doesn't me I never need to eat. Basically I only ever eat to get a taste of the food and I can eat however much I want. Still I felt that unless it is something special there is no point eating. I would normally eat a little and then cultivate. After hearing about mine and Rou's Is peculiarities tomboy princess was quick for the rest of the day. Soon we arrived at a hot springs town so we took some time to enjoy ourselves ,but the highlight was the powerful presence living behind a waterfall. For now we were too weak to fight it so Rou and I left it only. In two days time a new problem that threated the lives of the cook sisters came forward.
