Chapter 51 Preparing for Baby

John appeared in his shack in Eden. He walked out of the shack and looked around. The dimension was now huge and there were multiple planets, and numerous stars in the sky. This was the effect of John's training; over the time he was with the group he had trained in Eden multiple times. Using different weapons, each time he trained.

John decided that when he left this world, he would put all his loved ones here, he would summon a clone of himself. This clone would be a part of his soul and would stay with his loved ones that came here.

John decided that this was the last time he would come here, he would only return when he brought his family inside. John then left Eden and appeared in Victoria's room, like he never left. John then walked out of the room quietly. Going to the showers, John took a quick shower, then he changed his clothes.

Now wearing tan khaki's, an olive shirt, and brown leather boots. John put his holster on his hip, put his combat knife on his hip as well, then picked up his bat as well. John also summoned a S&W .500 revolver and put it in the back of his waist. John then walker out of the locker room, after putting his bat in Eden. John walked out of the locker room, then he left cell block C, going into his tower. John saw his women laying there with Sarah and smiled. He then walked over and kissed their heads.

John then walked out of the tower and went to his car. He started his car and started driving, he left through the front gate and went many miles out. John kept driving for a while before he saw a small sign. He stopped near it and saw it said, Little Angel Daycare. John turned to the direction the sign pointed and began to drive there.

John arrived in front of a small building; it had a large colorful sign hanging over the door. The sign read, Little Angel Daycare, seeing this John hopped out his car and walked toward the door, shooting a walker that came towards him, without even turning.

John tried the door, but it was locked, John heard some noise coming from inside. Looking into the window John saw some kids sitting in a circle playing. Seeing this John was surprised, he also saw two young women and a young man. They were all around 16 years old, they were watching the kids and standing in front of a table with worried expressions.

Seeing there were living inside and not wanting to scare the kids, John knocked on the door. He knocked three times before he stopped. The quiet music from inside stopped, and John could hear footsteps approaching the door. John could hear some whispering from behind the door before it opened a crack, the young man was looking at him, with weary expression.

The man looked at John, he was shocked to see a human, so he shut the door hurriedly. John could once again hear whispering, the man opened the door once again but this time, he opened it all the way. He had a knife and was staring at John, he asked, "What door you want."

John said, "Do you have baby toys in there? Also, bibs, pacifiers, or diapers?"

The man looked at John and said surprised, "You're not here for any nefarious reason."

John said, "Look kid, I get your being careful, but can you not see my pistol? If I was here for a nefarious reason, I would have just shot you."

The man said after he gulped, "Okay, I get your point. So, you just want baby supplies?"

John said, "Yeah, my wife is having a baby soon and I really need some supplies. Will you help me? If you do, I can help you out, I have a base. It's safe and there are other kids there. How about it?"

The man nods as he put his knife into its sheath. The man then entered the building, John followed after him and saw all the kids and both ladies were hiding behind a wall. John only knew because he could see the young woman's hair, as she tried to peek at the entrance.

The man walked over to the wall and John could hear him say, "Everything is alright. A man came and all he wants is baby supplies. He also said that if we help him, he will take us back to his base. Suddenly, a little boy came running over holding a play sword and stabbed John with it. The teens were immediately frightened, not wanting to offend the scary man.

But before they could get scared, John fell onto the ground holding his gut saying, "Arg, I'll get you next time." John then played dead on the ground as the boy cheered at his success. The boy then ran over to the teens saying, "Tom, Betty, Ivy, look, I defeated the scary man."

The teens felt like crying but they were so surprised that they couldn't, it was almost funny how the big man crumpled to the floor after being hit by a foam sword. John then stood up, he said after laughing, "Sorry about that, I have been playing with the kids at the base too much. I forgot the situation. I'm John by the way."

The teens just looked at John with incredulous expressions before they sighed. This sigh was full of relief, but also exasperation, they were happy they met someone not trying to hurt them, but did he have to be so weird. Tom then said, "We have plenty of diapers here along with the other supplies you need. Follow me."

John then followed Tom over to a door. Opening the door and looking inside, John saw tons of cans stacked up, there was also many different supplies and clothes for babies and kids also tons of toys that were still in their packages. John looked at Tom and said, "How did a little daycare like this get all of this stuff?"

Tom said, "The daycare was doing a food drive and the toys and supplies were supposed to be donated to less fortunate mothers or single fathers."

John hearing this nodded and said, "That makes sense. So, you were able to survive all this time here, only eating the food from these cans?"

Tom said, "Yeah, we never had to leave."

John asked, "Why did you stay here?"

Tom said sadly, "When this all started, "We were just watching the kids as normal, but an emergency broadcast started, and we sheltered in place. Many of the kids here left with their parents, but no one ever came for these kids. Knowing they wouldn't survive by themselves, I stayed, and the other girls stayed as well. Most of the workers left though."

John nodded and said, "Well, I can bring you to my base now if you'd like? Only problem is, I don't have a vehicle big enough to bring you all back. Is there a bus? You know, one for field trips?"

Tom nodded with a smile and said, "Yeah, we'll come with you, the kids are tired of being inside and I know I can't protect them all by myself. There is a minibus that would fit all of us, plus the food, supplies, and toys."

John said, "Great. Help me move all the supplies and stuff to the bus and then we'll bring all the kids to the bus."

Tom nodded and Ivy and Betty who had been listening in, nodded as well. John then ran out to the car and came back with 20 big black duffle bags he keeps in his trunk. John, Tom, and Ivy then began to put all the stuff from the room into the bags. The kids were oblivious to what was going on, all they knew is that they would be going to live somewhere nice.

When all the stuff had been packed up, John and Tim then began to take the bags out back to the minibus. Some walkers were out back but John just fired his pistol 6 times, and they were down. Tom watched this scene and was horrified to think about what would have happened if John was a bad guy.

Anyway, John and Tom loaded all the bags into the minibus. Then they walked back into the daycare and Tom said, "Alright, Betty, Ivy. Are the kids ready to go?

Ivy and Betty nodded, then said, "Okay kids, we're going in the bus." The kids cheered as they grabbed their backpacks, there were 5 of them, 3 girls and 2 boys. John then walked out the back door with the rest following behind him. John watched as they got into the minibus, Tom then started the engine. It had some trouble starting because it hadn't been used in a year, but in the end, it still started up.

John then walked through the building and walked to his car. By the time he got in and started his car, the bus pulled up beside him. John opened the window then he said, "Follow me."

John then started to drive back to the prison, with the bus following him. When they were almost at the prison, about 20 miles out, John stopped because he saw a group of people walking down the road. John hopped out of his car and pulled his pistol out, signaling Tom not to exit the car. John walked forward, pistol in hand, the group in front of him didn't have any guns. When John was about 6 feet away from them, he said, "Hi friends, where you headed?"

A big black man stepped forward and said, "Hello, I'm Tyreese and we aren't headed anywhere. We don't want any trouble."

John looked at Tyreese, then at the rest of his group, John said, "How many walkers y'all killed?"

Tyreese looks at John, confused he said, "Why are you asking this?"

John ignored him and said, "Indulge me."

Tyreese nodded, then he turned to his group, and they began to discuss, Ty said, "We don't know. More than 40."

John nodded and said, "How many people you killed?"

Tyreese said immediately, "None."

John questions, "Why?"

Ty says, "Because life is important, especially with the dead walking."

John nodded, then said, "Alright, you passed my test. You can come with me, if you want."

Ty looked at John, then turned to the rest of his group, they talked for several minutes. Debating whether they should go or not. Ultimately, they decided to go, because Donna had a weak physique and wouldn't last much longer walking. Ty said to John, "Okay, we will come with you."

John nodded, then said, "You won't all fit in my car, two of you have to go in the bus." They nod, and Donna, and Ben got into the bus. Donna was happy to see all the little kids and started to play with them, while Ben just sat down.

John got into his car, Allen sitting in the passenger side, Ty and Sasha in the backseat. John then started to drive as the bus followed. Twenty minutes later they arrived at the prison and John used his voice operated remote to open the gate, then both vehicles went in. John closed the gate, and they drove into the courtyard before stopping.

As everyone got out of the two vehicles, they all had shocked expressions on their faces. Madison came over and led Tyreese's group away. John then brought Tom and his group inside, Rick came over and helped get them set up at the prison. Soon everyone was chatting together, they were integrating well. The kids were playing together with Sarah, and everything was going perfect.
