Asking For Forgiveness

Elder Cu Gil entered the room and sat on one side of the floor table. 

"Why are you here?" Elder Cu Gil looked at Eun Woo first before asking Yang Zhai. 

"Elder, I want to talk about Ci An." Yang Zhai looked gloomy. 

There were no greetings between them. What could they ask each other anyway? Could Yang Zhai ask Cu Gil if he was doing fine? Or would elder Cu Gil inquire about Yang Zhai's health, the one his daughter hated the most? Greetings were considered a symbol of good intentions or were made because of some kind of relationship. 

But did any of them want to make any relationships with each other?

"Elder Cu, greetings, I am Eun Woo, I just became an elder. I hope I could help you share your grief, but I know it's not possible, as the pain of losing the one closest to you is really more than anyone else could empathize with."

However, Eun Woo was not like Yang Zhai. She was an elder and greeted Cu Gil like a normal person does. 

"Hmm, I know you and what do you want to talk about Ci An?" Elder Cu Gil nodded and then asked Yang Zhai. 

"Elder, please, please, forgive me. I really regret what I did to Ci An. I hope it could have been some other way that our meetings proceeded, but I can't turn everything back and proceed in another way, so, I want you to forgive me instead of Ci An." A sorrowful look appears on Yang Zhai's face. One drop of tear falls from his eye, and then from the other eye. 

"Oh, so that's what you want to talk about. You can leave, I don't have anything to discuss about this." 

"But, but, your daughter died in a tragic manner, I can't forget that moment of her death." 

"She did die a tragic death, who would have thought that she would get attacked by an enemy in the night." Elder Cu Gil remembers the scene of her daughter's headless body, which was delivered to him this morning. 

As I thought, they really did not tell him anything. Let me help him then: Yang Zhai knew something like this would happen.

"What, what are you saying? Is it really true that the seventh elder is the one who killed my daughter?" Elder Cu Gil's eyes widened after listening to Yang Zhai. The Clan hid this from him. 

"Why do you ask this? Did I say something?" Yang Zhai showed a confused expression. 

"Didn't you just say that the seventh elder killed my daughter?" 

"Did I? Oh, sh*t, did I reveal everything? No, Elder, forget everything I said. Just focus on my apology and forgiveness." Yang Zhai shook his hands and refused straightforward. 

Oh, so now he realizes it. After revealing everything in detail and with so much precision, he realized everything. Are you serious? And was this really an apology?: Eun Woo looked at Yang Zhai with strange eyes. This was the first time she realized that an apology could be this dangerous. Of course, she also doubted that Yang Zhai might have revealed everything intentionally, but she was not sure. After all, Yang Zhai was still a kid and might really be feeling sorry for Ci An. 

"Eun Woo, he said that you were all present there when my daughter died, is he telling the truth?" 

Eun Woo hesitated. She did not want to lie. She couldn't bear to lie to a father about his daughter's death. This was also the reason Yang Zhai had brought her with him. He knew what kind of person Eun Woo was. She would not lie to Cu Gil about Ci An.

"I am warning you, tell me everything that happened: otherwise, I will kill you."Elder Cu Gil began to walk toward Yang Zhai in a threatening manner. 

The Night Owl looked at Ci Gil silently and did not make any noise. 

"Elder, he did not do anything, please stay away from him." 

However, Eun Woo came in front of Yang Zhai and defended him. 

"Oh, so will you stop me? Okay, you can save him now, but what about tomorrow or the day after that, can you save him from me forever?" 

Cu Gil smiled after seeing that Eun Woo defended Yang Zhai. Yang Zhai was the only person that knew the truth besides the three elders; thus he was important to Cu Gil. He was just threatening Yang Zhai and did not want to kill him: or there won't be any evidence left to reveal the truth about his daughter's death. This was the point Yang Zhai was taking advantage of. 

Even though elder Cu Gil was feeling emotionally sad, he was not so foolish as to kill the only eyewitness besides the three elders. Elder Cu Gil loved her daughter more than everything. This was the reason Yang Zhai came here. 

He had to deal with Jill Lu as quickly as possible. He was too weak to do anything to Jil Lu. He might die any moment. It was better to deal with a crazy dog than to wait for it to bite.

"Elder, elder, what are you doing? I just came to ask for forgiveness. I know I couldn't save her, but you can't kill me. However, if it can make you forgive me, then I am ready. Elder, move aside, let him do what he wants to, he lost his daughter after all." Tears fell down Yang Zhai's eyes.
