AFTER LUCIUS told Van that he'd like to propose a political marriage to Gypsy Woolsey, he laughed at the knight's unchanging poker face. "You don't believe me, do you?"

"Your Highness is a sentimental person," Van said bluntly. "I've always thought that Your Highness will marry out of love. However, if Your Highness chose to have a political marriage in the end, then I shall support your decision– no questions asked."

He smiled widely.

This was why he chose Van as his personal knight.

"You're right," he said to the knight while nodding. "I'd like to marry out of love if I have the choice."

Van looked satisfied by his answer. "But if Your Highness will be forced to get into a political marriage in order to gain more power, I believe Lady Woolsey is a good choice."
