Chloe gave a faint nod to the old man.
Charlotte Richardson slightly frowned.
Still the same, not speaking up.
Just this point made her unlikeable.
"Chloe, you're back. Say hello to Granny."
Yvette Foster hastily signaled Chloe.
Chloe said faintly, "Granny."
"Hmm."
Charlotte walked up to Chloe and looked her up and down.
"You've grown taller, and more spirited."
"Mother, I'll see you out."
Adam Stephens followed over.
Charlotte glanced at Adam, "What, are you afraid that I, an old woman, will eat your daughter?"
Adam chuckled, "Of course not."
Charlotte's face turned cold, "Is this girl always this late home every day?"
"High school coursework is heavy, so they go home after evening self-study period."
Originally, Chloe wanted to live at school, but Adam rejected it.
"Studies are important, but so is one's health."
Seeing that her own son was guarding against her, his own mother, Charlotte no longer wanted to stay here.
