The weight of Leo's head on her shoulder was a distraction but Mila needed to work anyway. After a while, she was able to ignore the numbness. He was happy and quiet so she could get things done; that was what mattered.
She managed to be productive until the doorbell rang. Leo slept right through it and she sighed, gently shaking him. "Leo, the food is here. I have to get up so I need you to get off me."
That woke him up immediately. "I got it! Let me get the door; I'll bring the pizza to you."
He sprang up and skittered toward the door, opened it, and grabbed the box with a hurried "thank you" before shutting the door in the surprised delivery guy's face. It was a good thing Mila already paid and tipped while ordering on the website.
Leo sat back down right next to her and opened the pizza box before holding it out to her. "Here! Pizza for you, Mila."
She laughed. "Hang on a minute; we need to wash our hands first."
"Oh, right. I forgot."
