I was still watching Addie's face as we discussed the items that were on my list, but I was also watching Nolan. I could tell that he hadn't known these things about the humans. Even though Addie had been a human when he met her and fell in love with her, she hadn't told him about the truth of the human condition. I doubted that neither me nor Nolan had understood what was happening in the world. And there were still things that I needed to take into consideration. And just as that thought struck me, Addie opened her mouth and started to speak in a low and sad tone.
