Into The Garden

My heart was just about to burst with excitement as I started to walk toward the garden with Uncle Dominic. With each step that I took toward the door into the back garden, my heart would beat faster and faster. I actually felt a little lightheaded and dizzy with all the blood that was coursing throughout my entire body, specifically my head.

When we reached the door, I saw that it was ornately carved like all of the others that were in the house, only this one had a beautiful stained glass set in the middle of it. The glass was in the pattern of water and wind, making up Uncle Dominic and Aunt Caitlin at the same time.

For a moment, I was mesmerized by the sight of the door with the light coming through it to this side. The way that the light moved within the images and seemed to twinkle right into my eyes. It was sheer perfection.

"Now, Addie dear, welcome to the gardens." Uncle Dominic laughed a little at the awe on my face as he pulled the door open.
