TRUTH

" He is dying....."

These words were like a rumble of thunder to their ears, they couldn't believe it. Their son is only 15 this year so how could he die. They knew their son has always been on the weak side but nobody could tell the exact condition of their child till today and the day they knew about the condition it came with the news of him dying.

Olivia couldn't accept the fact.

She felt as if someone swiped off the floor beneath her feet when she heard doctor Drake's word.

" What do you mean by dying? He is just a child! How can he be dying? He only gets sick like he usually does so how can you conclude he is dying!" Olivia glared at Doctor Drake with hatred.

Eugene gently rubbed his wife's back coaxing her to calm down. He then looked at doctor Drake with worry-filled eyes asking for the detail and any measures to save their child, " Docter Drake, what do you mean by he is dying? Please tell us properly don't beat around the bush."

" From his report, We assume he had been fainting or fell sick at least once every six months or so...."

Eugene nodded his head in agreement, " Yes, he did but we have done everything we could but nobody could tell what's happening to him. Doctor Drake, did you have a breakthrough on his case?"

How could Eugene be convinced his son was dying so he instead of asking the doctor about Lucas's illness he asked if there is any solution.

Drake couldn't help but sigh, he himself isn't willing to let his pupil die but what could he do in front of fate.

" Eugene, you have to know that I wouldn't have said he is dying if we have any solution. I am sorry it's too late." Doctor Drake heavy heartedly break out the news.

" If we have brought him here before would we have been able to save him? Would you have been able to treat him? Did we made mistake?" Olivia asked not willing to give up.

"Olivia you have to have faith in doctors. I am not the only one in the world and there are many others who are more outstanding than me. And I believe you did everything in your power to know about his condition didn't you?"

"And all our answers would be the same as those doctors too. His case is too special. Even if you have brought him here yesterday.... no,.... even 2 hours before, we wouldn't have been able to find anything wrong with his condition," hearing doctor Drake's remarks both Eugene and Olivia were confused.

" What do you mean?"

" Can you tell me what other doctors tell you whenever Lucas fainted or become ill?" looking serious and mysterious doctor Drake asked as if he knew what other doctors tell them but only to verify or to come to a conclusion he made them repeat.

Olivia looked at Eugene with worry taking a deep breath Eugene to tell everything, "At first nobody could tell why he would suddenly faint or get sick but last year we got some news Lucas may have low life energy which result in him having more fatigued and prone to sickness in regard to others moreover the energy consumption rate in his body is more as he grew up which could be a problem...."

" Despite knowing this why did you let him train, don't you worry about him or all this is for a show!" Doctor Drake was furious. He believed them to know something but he didn't think despite knowing his condition these people who were supposed to be his parents would let him train outside the house for 9 years.

His pupil should've been raised in their palm like a treasure but he was treated like a speck of dirt. He couldn't believe these people dared to show sad faces in front of him! Does Marcus know how his grandson is being treated by his parents or he is also involved in it, Doctor drake could help give a serious thought about it.

" Do you think we didn't! You should know how stubborn your pupil can get. For your information, as I said we knew about his condition being this serious only last year after a long study and observation from many doctors and as soon as we knew about it we had him return home otherwise he would have only returned 3 months ago. Do you think we want our son to suffer? " Olivia angrily questioned doctor Drake with tear-filled eyes.

" Doctor Drake we respect as our senior and Lucas teacher but that didn't mean you have the right to question our love towards our son. You also knew how much we love him," Eugene coldly glared at Doctor Drake.

He couldn't let anyone bully them just because they were seniors to them. He has known this old man since he was a child and he also knew the old man must have felt betrayed for not informing him about his Pupil condition but they couldn't just break their promise made to their son too.

If Lucas knew about them breaking the promise he won't ever trust them with important matters in the future.

"Humph! I like to see if you could be like this after I read you, his report. Do you know what we find during his check-up?" Doctor Drake knew they have their own worries and he didn't want to discuss other things so he focus on Lucas's report which is the main issue here.

But that doesn't mean he wasn't upset with Olivia and Eugene. Seeing his own pupil in the death bed how could he not be angry and if he hadn't been in the hospital would they tell him at his funeral.

" We don't know what's happening to him. His case is difficult to explain and understand. When we first did regular check-ups his heartbeat and other things were normal that's why we say if you have brought him yesterday or even a few hours ago we wouldn't have been able to find anything. But....."

" But What?......." Eugene asked in a calm cold voice. At a glance, he looked calm but his slightly quivering voice and hands gave him out.

Doctor Drake a deep breath and look at the helpless parents in front of him, "but what take us with surprise was when we take him to do some tests at first it shows everything was normal however within a second as if something clicked his organs began to deteriorate! It's as if there is not enough energy to maintain his energy!"

Silent dawn in the room.

"What do you mean?" Olivia asked in a trembling voice. Her whole body shook in fear.

" It means Lucas's organs are failing. He didn't have enough energy or should we say fuel to run his organs and we don't know when he will die!"

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
