Gavin was lost in his thoughts the entire day. Even when he returned home after meeting his Alpha, he did not show much reaction or speak, surprising Lucy and Ginnie.

Lucy had tried time and again to get him to talk. But the man remained silent as if he had gone mute all of a sudden. He was not like himself at all. If not for him having her brother's face, Lucy would have assumed him to be someone else.

After dinner, Lucy waited until her brother was out of sight before she stared at Ginnie who was wiping the dining table.

"Sister Ginnie, do you think there is something wrong with Brother?" she asked, frightened to think of the possibility. Even though she was only thirteen, she was a smart girl, smarter than her peers. So, she could see and understand things clearly.
