"Am I going to turn into a werewolf?" Questioned Aurora paling at the thought of looking like a werewolf. She did not want to change as the man did. The appearance of a werewolf was scary and the man seemed to be in pain when he was changing. "I wish I saw his face more clearly. What if he is someone who has been around me before? I feel like I've heard his voice before. Who could it be?"
She came across so many people daily that it would be hard to pinpoint the voice. The home was filled with new and old male workers plus a lot of her father's clients visited a lot.
"Why is it coming to save me? I don't need saving from anyone here. It must be mistaken but to have a creature like that speaking to me, I just can't ignore this."
If she mentioned it to anyone they would probably think she was crazy and there was no proof to show it was real. The bruise had healed itself.
She did find it weird Minnie had mentioned a beast coming for them and it was true. Maybe Minnie knew it was also true and knew what the werewolf wanted. Why hadn't it just taken her as Minnie said?
"If Minnie knows more about the werewolf and I tell her about it, she will just lock me away even more. Regina and Samuel would keep the secret but I wouldn't want them to be involved with this creature. Okay, Aurora, it hasn't shown up in reality so for now it might just be in my dreams. Until then, I should be able to learn more about its secret. I just need to get out of the house without anyone knowing and look for books on werewolves."
But not every book store would have books on werewolves. Many of the people in the Harlow kingdom did not like speaking about werewolves and other creatures unless they were told bedtime stories to scare children. Nothing good could come from talking about creatures who should not exist.
To protect herself Aurora would need to go to the place in town, hidden in the back alley's which sold all kinds of things other stores wouldn't even think of selling. Getting there wasn't the hard part but lying to Minnie will be.
Aurora ran her fingers against her skin where the bruise should have been. Deep inside her a part of her felt conflicted about what happened. She felt like she knew the werewolf but that should not be possible. She rarely left home and has never come across that type of creature. It scared her to think it must've been around her before but in the form of a man.
"Werewolves really exist," she muttered, pulling her blanket up to her nose. If not for what she experienced Aurora would also think someone hit their head for believing they came across a werewolf.
Werewolves, Gods, vampires and more, were all things the kings have claimed to have killed off many years ago. No one believed those types of creatures were alive anymore. They were all an old tale. Aurora felt that she should warn someone about it but who would believe her? Who would think something like a werewolf still existed? Most importantly, King Darius would not like anyone talking about it in the towns. Especially someone like her with a family background such as the Hamiltons.
"Miss? Breakfast time is almost over. Mr. Hamilton has saved your breakfast on the table while the others have left home except for Minie," said a maid from the other side of the door. She was told to come to wake up the young mistress a while ago but the lady of the house told her to wait a little later when breakfast would be almost done. As much as she liked Aurora because she was really nice, the maid knew to obey the person who paid her, which was Rachel.
It was odd. Aurora did not notice it was morning time. She had just laid her head to rest to go to sleep, had the dream, and when she woke up the room had appeared dark like night. How did nighttime fly by so fast and she didn't notice the brightness of the room till the maid called out to her? Her dream might still be playing tricks on her mind.
"I-I will be there shortly," she called back to the maid. Aurora was upset she missed breakfast with everyone but what she would be doing today would be more important.
Aurora removed the blanket off herself and tossed her feet over the side of the bed getting up to make sure what she needed tonight was still here. She got up off her bed to search for a commoner's dress she rarely used when she wanted to leave the house and not be recognized as someone from a wealthy household. She also used a hood to hide her strange white hair which was not common.
She searched a section of her closet in a box behind all the other clothes and found the dress she bought one day when she went to the market. Sneaking it in was hard because Minnie liked to inspect what she bought. She loved how much interest Minnie took in her things but it was frustrating when she couldn't bring secret things into the home. Like books with topics they didn't like her reading about. Tonight she would wear this dress to sneak out and find a book about werewolves.
Aurora closed back the top of the box and pushed it back where she had it hidden before. She picked out a new dress and undergarments and went to her bathroom to freshen up herself for the morning.
Aurora entered her spacious bathroom and turned on the tap for the water to run while she took off her current clothes. A warm bath would help calm her growing nerves. Taking off the clothes she wore to bed, Aurora noticed a weird symbol on her shoulder.
"Why does this look like the moon?"
