Chapter 60

“Not anymore.”

“Why?”

“I really needed you, and you came.”

There was about fifteen minutes of hiccups and sobs, it sounded like two voices crying instead of one. Finally Tom and Robbie came downstairs. “This is the last time I can talk for three days. I asked Tom if I could say thank you to all of you and Caden, who certainly didn’t deserve me breaking his peace. It won’t happen again.”

“I have a shot I want you to take in my bag and a prescription to fill before you go home,” Greg said.

“Where are we going? The house isn’t ready yet. I don’t want you to leave me.”

“Bear has a nice little house at the edge of his property. I stopped and got the key. We’re going to live there until our house is fixed. Bear made other arrangements for Dex, Benji, and Jose.”

“Will Dex, Benji, and Jose be angry with me? The house could be a six month project, getting it decorated and furnished.”
