“That’s sort of strange, though,” Brian said. “Running hot and cold like that.”
“Maybe,” Jim replied. “But it was only a first date, so time will tell. Honey, he is sooo hot. He damn well better take out his thing next time.”
“You are so bad,” Brian giggled.
“But you love it…” Jim answered ending their conversation on its usual note.

Monday two weeks later
“You haven’t done it yet?” Brian poured the tea. They were in Jim’s kitchen; Bear was seeing to some business in Trenton.
“No, every time we get close, something happens.” Jim sighed.
“Like what?” Brian cocked his head. “Is Matilda cock blocking?”
Jim punched Brian in the arm. “She actually did one night. She scratched his hand and I had to disinfect it and put a Band-Aid on it; it sort of ruined the mood.”
“But you’ve been seeing each other practically three times a week for two weeks now, what else happened besides Matilda?”
