17. intelligence

A plane is flying. It shows the activities of the passengers who are busy doing their things. Some are sleeping; a few are reading a magazine or newspaper and listening to music.

Lucas, who is in that business class, chose to read a magazine while listening to music. His body is still weak and his face is still pale from the wound he got when doing his mission. His mind is somewhere else, remembering the events of when he met Cleo.

"Sir, do you want beer or.."

"I'll just have some water," Lucas said.

The flight attendant gave him some water. Lucas doesn't want to drink alcohol right now; it will affect his health tremendously. To relieve his boredom, he read a few magazines and stopped at an article about a case that made him curious.

He once again recalled the things that happened at his meeting with Cleo on the cruise ship. He tries to remember the way Cleo shoots and the techniques she used. Maybe if he could remember them, he might be able to discover the real identity of Cleo.

When he arrived at the airport, a few people could be seen waiting for him. Before he left, he called a renowned agent to talk about the killing incident that happened. The incident made them worried about the appearance of a woman who disappeared without a trace.

"Hello Mr. Lucas, I'm agent Naura. " A girl with Bob's hair who was wearing sunglasses said

"Lucas Veen Ardeon." Lucas said, telling her his full name. He glanced at the woman.

Their attire looks just like what a normal person would wear, nothing special. This is because if a wanted person is suddenly seen, they can supervise that person without making other people worried.

"We are glad that you want to work with us," Naura said to Lucas while bringing him to the car. "We are also concerned about the incident that happened in your country," Naura said again.

"Yeah, we even got a demand to immediately catch that person," Lucas said, making agent Naura look at him.

They know how it feels to be tired because of trying to catch someone very difficult to catch. They even take the person they are after as a ghost or an alien.

Your team has only started to find that person, but we have tried doing that for a few years. Every one of our attempts failed. That person is great at deceiving and is even amazing at controlling the traffic lanes and other security systems. We don't know who the person is? What the person's gender is That person sometimes becomes a man, a little girl, a middle-aged woman, or even an elderly person.

Lucas tried to recall Shadow's figure when he met her and frowned. Is Shadow a man or a woman? Lucas asked in his heart.

If Shadow is a man, how embarrassing it must be for him to be called a lover by a man. He then once again thought about the night where Cleo became his lover.

So you haven't gotten any information when trying to go after that person? Lucas asked, curious.

"The information that we got is very uncertain. A few of the pieces of information that we got say that she joined a big mafia organization. But there is no correct information about that organization. It's very hard to track her. " Naura said while focusing on her steering wheel.

"Even you guys who have amazing technologies and facilities can't catch her?" Lucas asked curiously.

Naura shook her head. Have you ever watched a movie where the killer is so smart and has weapons that no one else has? That's the problem we are facing. The person is so intelligent that they made our system get infiltrated too easily and even gave us a problem with our satellite.

At first, Lucas didn't believe the story that Agent Naura told him, but when he saw the woman's face was so serious, he believed it.

The country Lucas came to is very developed compared to others, but even their system could be infiltrated by Shadow. How smart is that person? Could it be that all the secret data about them is known by a shadow? That might be true.

"We came across something strange when we were looking for that person. That person doesn't kill people who aren't his/her target; he/she only kills the people who are on the list that she is given. Even children are not on the list. There was a case where my partner and I worked on a case. An organization was destroyed, and all the children who were prisoners there were saved. Funny, but that person actually saves people too, "said Naura, chuckling.

"Well, maybe he or she is that kind of person," Lucas said unintentionally when he remembered the incident where he was helped by Shadow.

Naura's car arrived at a place. The place isn't an office but a very organized and neat headquarters. Lucas followed Naura's footsteps until he saw a tall man with black hair and golden yellow eyes.

The man's attire was so casual. He wore a gray t-shirt and a black jacket. He welcomed Lucas happily.

"Hello. I'm Edward. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Lucas," the man who introduced himself as Edward said. "Let me take you to see the files that we've collected so far," Edward said.

Their facilities, which are very different from theirs, look very different from those of Edward. He glanced and saw so much information on the overlapping screens, realizing how sophisticated the technology they are using is. Once again, he thought about how this advanced and developed technology was infiltrated by Shadow. How extraordinary was his or her brain?

Now it crossed their minds: was the girl a human? Or artificial intelligence?
