He hid the beast's corpse in the bushes then swiftly cleared the traces of battle.

"Two more to go" Roan murmured before rushing to where others were recuperating.

It did not take him any more than a minute to rush back.

He used basic reinforce in attack which did not consume more than 1 point of energy. With his total amount energy being 19, it was no big deal.

He climbed back the tallest tree in the area again and started scouting for a new prey.

Earlier it took him about ten attempts to break an intermediate tier beast's mental defense. He didn't want to continue like that.

Most of the contribution to the Black Panther's low mental resistance was because of his use of Blood Eye on it.

If not for that, then the Black Panther would not have succumbed to the illusion with such ease.

Roan wanted to select a prey with weak mental resistance. He could not check the stats for mental resistance yet but he could observe their intelligence.

A beast with high intelligence would not fall easily for illusion. In dire circumstances it might even pretend to submit and attack when chance arose.

Like when the Black Panther was on its death door, it also broke off from illusion but it was already critically wounded.

In the Black panther's case, it was because of the pain stimulation that the beast was able to break out of illusion.

But intelligent beasts were different, they could easily resist illusion. It was because one of the big family 'Demas' had an ability based on illusion that most people knew of it.

Roan also knew of such common knowledge about illusion that was why he didn't want to risk it.

He could kill most of intermediate tier beasts with ease, but some of them like Mutant Leopard would make him desperate.

He started examining the movements and reaction of beast gathered near the lake.

It was already dusk, making the surroundings little dull. There were only trees around and no source of light except for the setting sun.

"It has been two hour since I killed the Ten eyes eagle but they are still recuperating" Roan glanced at his teammates and shook his head in disappointment.

He killed the Black Panther discreetly but it was his personal gain. He could not just offer them his beast crystal.

He stopped dwelling in depressing thoughts and glanced at the lake a kilometer and half away from him.

He was still able to make out a lot of details about beasts in dusk but none of it was helpful.

"Let's give it a try, I cannot just keep waiting for them to recover. By the time they recover, it would already be dark night." Roan sighed

He looked at a random beast which resembled an Armadillo. It was around a meter big, nearing his waist.

He used green lens with his left eye and commanded the Armadillo like beast to come to him.

He did not give the beast his exact location but only commanded it to walk in one direction.

He was unsure of beast's intelligence and did not want to make it known of his location.

The Armadillo like beast stiffened its body before rushing to the direction opposite of what he commanded.

"An intelligent one" Roan shook his head before choosing another target.

It was not his first time losing control of beast. After he controlled the Black Panther, there was no other beast which succumbed to his control for more than four second.

"It seems like the skill Blood Eye was main factor contributing in the control of Black Panther."

"However, I cannot risk using it again. I am still not strong enough to use blood as an attack."

"I can only try slowly advancing near the lake to better optimize my skills."

He climbed down from the tree and used his Wind path skill to swiftly travel in the jungle.

He covered a distance of one kilometer in two minutes and stopped. The distance between him and the lake was around six hundred meters.

He wanted to continue going and reach a distance of two hundred meters from the lake.

The reason why he abruptly stopped before reaching within two hundred meters of lake was trees.

The trees a hundred meters ahead of him had beasts on it. Not only that, the beasts on the trees were all intermediate tier.

They were different types of beast but unconditionally all of them stood on the branches of tree.

Except for some very heavy beasts, every three tree had one beast on it.

It was not only intermediate tier beast but also basic tier. The number of basic tier beasts outnumbered the intermediate tier.

All of basic tier beasts were on ground near the trees intermediate tier beast stood on.

"It seems like they are small groups of beast which follow a certain intermediate tier and are in protection under it." Roan guessed

Nevertheless, to him they were all preys. He could easily subdue basic tier beasts with his green lens so he didn't care for them.

What mattered to him was intermediate tier beast. He could not openly command the intermediate tier beast when every three tree had one of it.

"I have to be very careful if i want to kill them without anyone noticing me."

Lucas on the other side was having assumptions about him.

"Why did he sneakily went back behind the tree?."

"When he came back, he was tired with sweat on his forehead but there was no sound of battle."

"What did he sneakily do to sweat so much when not fighting." he thought

He could not help but feel that no matter how powerful Roan is, but he sure was weird.

He glanced at Jennie before shaking his head and continued recuperating.

"There are 5 beasts on perimeter of the beasts on trees who can move unnoticed."

"If i have options to put anyone under illusion then that 5 would be the most ideal choice."

In radius of three tree, there was only one intermediate tier beast.

The five beasts he selected were in such a position that anyone near them would not be aware of their disappearance.

They were all in the vicinity of jungle where no beast would notice them unless one of victims made sound or commotion.

Two of the five beasts had characteristics of monkey. One of them was the Berserk Golden monkey he killed earlier.

Another one was brownish in color with a height of one meter. Its body was like a normal human child of eight to nine years old.

"Berserk Golden monkey is out of question, unless there is a mysterious beast that might have abilities like Ten eyes eagle" Roan said with determination

"It would not be that difficult for me to quickly kill it but it might cause commotion. I need to silently kill two beast without making noise."

He glanced at other three beasts on the trees an examined them carefully.

"A koala, a purple bird close to one meter, and a mountain goat??" he was shocked because of Goat's presence

It was not there was something unique about the goat on the tree. But a goat being on equal position of wild carnivores was a surprise for him.

"Koala are stupid animals , I don't know which species it is. The stats of Koala will help me decide if I should attack it or not"

"Attacking the purple bird is out of question, I cannot choose an aerial beast"

"This leaves me with three options Mountain Goat, Koala, and the Brownish monkey"

"I can use Inspect on two of them. If I guess successfully then I can end it in half an hour at most."

"Now that I have only two number of uses left for inspect which one should I inspect first?"

He thought for a minute then decided on Brownish monkey. He grew wary of monkeys from his last encounter.

He wanted to attack the weakest of them so he could quickly gain an instant kill. He could just check two of their stats and then choose ideal one among five.

He glanced at Brownish monkey then chose to inspect it.

"This.." he was shocked after looking at the stats of Mountain Goat.

"Even compared to the Golden Monkey, it is still an equal." he said

Now that he had used inspect twice, he wanted to attack and be done with it quickly. Otherwise, his teammates could get suspicious.

"The Lion tailed macaque then. "

He used his green lens while trying to look into the Lion tailed macaque eyes.

In basic tier beasts, just glancing at their bodies was enough to control them but for intermediate tier beasts, he had to look into their eyes.

The Loon tailed macaque never sat still which made it easy form him to lock eyes with it without him moving.

He established a connection with the macaque and commanded it to slowly walk to him.

The Lion tailed macaque could not resist illusion and started climbing trees to get near him.

The beasts near the Lion tailed macaque glanced at it but did not bother to react.

Roan did not dare to look elsewhere, he was ready to use green lens second time, the moment the effects wore off.

He was continuously staring into the Lion tailed macaque eyes.

Luckily, he realised that he had proper control of the beast. The moment the established connection wavered, he stared into its eyes and strengthened the connection.

In a minute the Lion tailed macaque was standing close to him without any resistance.

He took out his knife tucked in waist. He clutched it firmly and reinforced his hands.

SLASH!!!

The head of Lion tailed macaque fell down to the ground like a ball. It was a single swift slash with a knife and the beast was beheaded.

Seeing the ease of killing, Roan was not happy but scared. He felt lucky that he did not fight a beast with such ability yet.

If he met the illusion snake before, then he might have just died in seconds, he was drenched with sweat in fear of such confrontation.
