"Good morning! It's time to wake up!' sounded a voice in a room with two sleeping boys." The boys stirred awake.
Alex looked towards the door and saw Roger standing there.
"What time is it?" he asked.
"It's 6 o'clock. Jasmine went to wake up Jack and Lily. You should have a bath, eat breakfast and be fully ready. You will be taking the most important exam in your life in less than 3 hours" said Roger, as he walked out.
Both the boys quickly got up, and started getting ready to go downstairs.
Less than 30 minutes later, Roger, Jasmine, Jack, Lily, Joseph, and Alex were having breakfast.
After they finished, Roger said, "We will set off for the examination center in 30 minutes, so that we reach there nice and early. Until then, you should calm down and recall what you have already read."
"You nervous?" questioned Joseph.
"Naw! I got this" replied Alex.
Joseph grinned and said, "Same"
Jack and Lily, while not as confident as Alex and Joseph, did not seem too nervous either.
"Alright, let's go" said Joseph as he led the way outside.
The exam center, like everything else in Hurik Town, was a walking distance from Cherry Grove. It was built by the Pokemon Alliance specifically for the PIT, as it was compulsory for it to be established in every town.
There were special tablets manufactured by the Pokemon Alliance especially for the PIT. These would be stored in the bigger cities during all other times, and only during the PIT would they take some of them to a smaller town, depending on the number of people who applied to take the exam there. An instructor appointed in the city would also arrive.
The questions of the test would be directly uploaded to these special tablets at the appointed time, and you were required to fill in your particulars and submit the answers with the hour. They were thousands of different questions every year, but every examinee had to answer 100 questions. The questions would be randomized. This was because in some places, due to the large number of students, they would be examined on baches over the course of the week. Randomised questions reduced the possibility of cheating.
Hence two people sitting right next to each other and taking the exams might have totally different questions.
Roger handed the boys their exam tickets, reminded them to fill the particulars carefully, and sent them in.
There seemed to be 2 other people besides the four from Cherry Grove. The examiner sat at the front of the hall. The four of them scattered around and waited. Shortly after, 3 more came into the hall.
"That's all of you. Good morning and welcome to your PIT. I will be distributing your exam tablets to all of you. The question paper will be available on the tablet at 9 sharp. You have until 10 to submit the answers. Any entries later than 10 05 will be considered void" said the examiner as she began handing out tablets.
Alex took the tablet from the examiner, and began filling in his particulars. There were 10 minutes left until the start of the exam.
Alex looked at the time in the corner of the tablet. As soon as it hit 9, a file was available in the questions tab. He quickly opened it and started browsing through the questions.
All the hundred questions in this round were multiple choice or fill in the blank questions, hence with his extensive knowledge he was fairly confident.
After reading all the questions he was further affirmed of this, as he knew all the answers and was confident in getting a 100/100.
The typical questions were like
What type is Bulbasaur?
a)Grass b)Grass/Bug c)Poison/Bug d)Grass/Poison
What is the pre-evolution of Quilava?
What is the most effective type against a Steel/Grass type Pokemon?
Which of these Pokemon get an additional type upon evolving?
a)Poliwhirl b)Oddish c)Bellsprout d)Weedle
What item is required to evolve a Gloom into a Vileplume?
Which of these Pokemon did not require an evolution stone?
a)Poliwrath b)Vileplume c)Arcanine d)Gyarados
All these questions were easy for Alex. Not only due to the solid knowledge he acquired in the last six months, but also due to the inane number of Pokemon quizzes he attempted and aced in his previous life.
"This round is in the bag!" thought Alex confidently, as he finished the test in less than 10 minutes. He then looked around at the others who seemed to be absorbed in writing, and decided it would be too high profile to finish the exam early. With nothing else to do, he started going over the questions again, also while confirming he hadn't missed or incorrectly answered any.
