Jung-Nan took Hani's attention again by saying, "Ji-Hoon wants to have a small conversation with you, but if you don't want to then it is completely fine. Both of us will take our leaves." Jung-Nan smiled at her.
Hani was hesitating to answer, fidgeting her fingers. "It's ok sweetheart, I understand and I really don't want to put pressure on you." Jung-Nan was gesturing Ji-Hoon to leave the room but Hani stopped her.
"I can have a conversation with him." Jung-Nan just smiled, leaving both of them in the room, but she didn't leave, attaching herself with the door she was listening to the conversation.
"Umm hey." Ji-Hoon awkwardly said.
“h... hey." and Hani replied with the same amount of awkwardness.
"You can sit there." she pointed at the chair beside her dressing. Ji-Hoon nodded, lifting the chair and placing it beside her bed at least three to four feet away from Hani. He sat on that chair like a gentleman.
"Hani... I don't know if it is appropriate to say this thing in these circumstances but If I don't say it right now then I would never be able to say it ever again." Hani was confused as hell about what Ji-Hoon was speaking about.
"Oh Hani, I really liked you... no, I still like you." her eyes widened at his abrupt confession as she clenched the blanket into her fists due to nervousness.
"I just want to say that you don't need to marry Tae-Hoon, he does not like you and so do you. But I like you and ...and I don't know how to put it but I am ready to marry you. I will be the father of this child. I will do anything to keep you happy. If you marry Tae-Hoon, it will not be nice. I am his brother and I know what kind of a person he is, you guys just don’t match." Ji-Hoon was going on and on with his words but Hani was just in dismay.
"Sunbae... what... how... I mean no, this cannot happen." she was in a panic for sure.
"Why not?" Ji-Hoon asked lowering his gaze a bit in embarrassment as he saw the rejection coming his way.
"Because it is not right..." before she could explain her reason Ji-Hoon cut her off. " What do you mean Hani." he asked in a bare minimum voice and exhaled a deep breath.
"Sunbae... I listened to you, now please carefully listen to me that what I have to say." Ji-Hoon just nodded his head.
"First of all... I am really honored that such a brilliant person like you likes me. But no matter how much of this is an honor for me, I cannot forget that I am carrying this child and it is not just someone else's. For once to think even if we get together, this child will grow up in front of his own father calling someone else his or her father and I cannot spend my whole life placing this burden of doing something inappropriate with my brother-in-law. I will die eventually with all the distress and suffocation." Ji-Hoon just clenched his jaw listening to her quietly just as she requested but whatever she was saying had a point.
"I know and not only me but the whole upper class knows what kind of a person is Tae-Hoon. But if I am going to marry and give this child a father's name then it would be the real father and no one else. I am sorry, I am really sorry for saying this to you and breaking your heart but I really cannot accept anyone in my life and if I am accepting Tae-Hoon then it is only for this child." she was swallowing hard, looking at the reaction of the man sitting across from her.
Ji-Hoon stood up and gave her a ninety-degree bow. "I understand, I am sorry to cause you trouble." she just shook her head.
"I will get going now." and he excused himself from her room. Hani just wanted to dive in a pool with her embarrassment.
…
Se-Young kept sighing as she was pissed off about something. "What is wrong with you, you have been messing with this batter for three hours now and if there is something on your mind you can talk to me." the chubby friend of Se-Young said widening her eyes with dilated pupils, interested in knowing some spicy gossips.
Se-Young knowing how big of a gossip queen her friend was, rolled her eyes and picked one strawberry from the kitchen marble and shoved it in her friend's mouth.
"Ms. Kim Yoon-Hwa focus on your own work or just go and eat something to fill these big pots." she patted her chubby cheeks with her both hands.
Yoon-Hwa rolled her eyes, picking one more strawberry. "Don't talk about my food." she shoved the strawberry in her mouth and went towards the junior chefs, instructing and inspecting their works.
Se-Young was just thinking about what happened last night and what happened in the morning as well.
...
~Flashback to the morning~
The gloomy environment was suffocating as everyone was at the dining table except Tae-Hoon, who was locked up in his room.
Dong-Hoon took a bite of his breakfast widening his eyes, he understood that it was Se-Young again who made the breakfast. He rolled his eyes and stood up.
"Dong-Hoon, you have not eaten yet." Jung-Nan said pointing at his bowl which was still completely filled with rice.
He just gave a look towards Se-Young. "We have a high school reunion, I really don't want to go during these situations, but you know Min Eun-Woo. He was very persistent and forced me and I am getting late for it." he reasoned knowing that if he said something related to Se-Young then his mother would be upset.
"At least finish your meal." she said knitting her eyebrows in worry.
But what he would say rather than the truth. "I don't want to eat food made by the household workers, either you cook or I will do it myself." he just rushed out of the dining area while Se-Young was speechless, blinking her eyes.
