I walk the metal path leading to one of the blaster stores I passed on the way here. The world of credits has some strange rules, and while I get the bases and pricing scale. It's sometimes inconsistent. That'll happen when you use a single currency in a universe. I see a store up ahead that sells blasters.
The first blaster I've ever looked at, and it wasn't malfunctioning, was worth 12 credits, a quality one from one of the stores up ahead might be more spendy. I notice players coming and going. People aren't wearing common clothes anymore.
Most have new outfits, all of them have been customized. I walk into the store, and not only do they sell blasters. They also sell stylish space cowboy outfits. I see holsters, blasters, awesome hats, and long overcoats to hide weapons. I look towards the counter, and I see a giant bug man buying from the cashier. Who's like a bigfoot.
The bug man is a player. I walk around the store and head towards the blasters with more power. All of them are being disassembled in my head, and I'm learning all about them. I already have designs for some customs ones.
Now that the two are done speaking, I make my way towards the counter. "What can I get you?" The bigfoot speaks in a deep voice, one that matches his looks. I'd like to see if it's possible to build my own blaster. I ask him if it's possible, and he crosses his arm. "You have to be a licensed manufacturer to create your own hand-held weapons." That's weird. I ask him why. "That way, it's easier to track who sells in the black market and who doesn't." That seems like a system with a lot of holes. Most I can pick out look intentional. It must be a booming business.

[Hand-held weapons]
[Explanation: To create your own handheld weapon, you need a manufacturing license. How you get this is up to you to figure out.]
Make me wonder if this bigfoot-looking alien has any information regarding this manufacturing license. "How does one acquire a manufacturing license?" He proceeds to explain that it has to be issued by the systems ruling government. The government ruling this system needs to issue them. It also means in other systems controlled by different governments. It'll be worthless. "Is it illegal to buy the part to build a blaster?" I want to test a theory of mine. He tells me it's not, but it is illegal to put them together.
That is an egregious oversight and an intentional one, no doubt. "Can you sell me blaster parts?" He nods his head and takes me into the back, where his inventory of parts is. He must be a manufacturer himself.
I see all the parts, and I can pick out what I want to make my blaster. "Are you willing to sell me some of these parts?" The bigfoot alien adopts a thinking look. Contemplating if he should. He nods his head and tells me to come back out into the store when I have everything I want to buy.
He hands me a clipboard with all the prices of the parts. The parts are cheap but once assembled into a blaster—the price skyrockets. I take a random cardboard box and start filling it up with all the parts I need to create a blaster. I'm going to get all the best parts I can. After a few minutes, I look into the box, and it's a total of 500 credits worth of parts. That leaves me some for a modified holster.
I take the box of parts back out into the store, and I proceed to pay for them. Once fully paid, I throw them into my inventory, and I use this opportunity to look at my stats and funds. I already know what they are, but I still like to check.

I'm betting 3 days at the most is when people will start to buy ships and leave. Money-making guides are everywhere on the forums when I read them. They are all efficient too. Once I get that royalty contract with Aegis I'll have a healthy flow of credits. Not to mention a possible split for the reward on Ziller when I help Durado. The situation I have improves by the minute.
