"Scarlet is King Rian's daughter?" Jasmine looked at Dairon, who was equally shocked.
"I had no idea either." He frowned, shocked that Rian had never thought about Scarlet as his daughter. Maybe he knew that if he did, someone would find out by reading his mind.
They followed Scarlet through the tunnels as she grew up. For the first century of her life, King Rian did not appear before her—until Catalyah was born. Only then did King Rian look for her. She was just a little goddess then, and she was ecstatic to find out that she was the daughter of the king.
"Father," She cooed cutely.
"You cannot call me that." He berated her gently. "No one knows that you are my daughter and it should remain that way for the rest of your life."
"Why?" She questioned sadly.
"They will use you to get to me and if they know that it will hurt me, trying to kill you will not be the limit." He crouched to her level, making her understand.
