__________ POV Beru__________

I wonder what to do now...

Well, my birthday is certainly a fun memory, but it also happened on a pretty shit day in general.

It's the same day that I got to learn that fixing Souma is going to take a lot more than just Rewinding his genetics.

I mean, I'm usually not one to be pessimistic about things. But I'm actually starting to doubt whether or not the Nomus can even be fixed.

I mean, there's only so much Yori and I can do. But I guess we have time... At least I hope so.

Human bodies aren't actually meant to hold that much quirk factor, which is why the Nomus are mostly abominations. Their lifespan isn't something that Kyudai had a chance to test.

But the life expectancy of a regular Nomu shouldn't be all that high. So, I guess one could say that I am incredibly worried that, while Yori and I have all the time in the world, Souma and the others are already on the brink of death.

Although, I guess Yori would be able to tell if any of them were close to that point. This is just my worries getting the better of my rationality.

Hmm, I wonder now, what quirk would my child have? I can't really help it when just laying in bed near Nemuri.

I mean, sure, protection and all that. But one day we will probably have a child. I guess it doesn't really matter what quirk he/she will get. I will make sure to take care of my kid, much unlike my parents, that I've yet to hear much about.

Hell, I never actually cared to learn their names either. They were spoken in my presence when I was a baby, but why really would I ever care about them?

Giving birth to a child doesn't mean anything if you don't stick around to take care of them. The act of procreation doesn't give you the right to call yourself a parent.

I wonder how much time I have left in this world too... The experiments that Kyudai did on me certainly didn't help me. But I also have 'Life Force' which will likely allow me to outlive most people that I know.

Not that I actually want something like that.

"Hmm... You're awake?" I heard a voice from beside me, feminine and somewhat tired. I guess pained would be the better word for it.

It's obviously Nemuri, and she's 100% hungover.

"No~I'm obviously still sleeping~ Want me to wake up?~" She just scoffed and rubbed her temples while looking at the ceiling.

Note to self, don't tell jokes to someone that feels like vomiting. They likely won't find anything funny.

"Care to get me a glass of water?" She asked while trying to shakily get up. I didn't think she drunk that much. Well, maybe she's more tired because of the dancing and 'dancing'.

"Sure~" I just warped my hand into the kitchen, grabbed a glass and filled it with water at the sink. It's pretty easy to navigate like this when you know the house already. Or when you can see through walls...

She gulped down that glass of water like a parched woman. It was almost comical to see her embarrassedly ask for a second one. She just bumped the glass on my shoulder and looked at me with a shy smile.

I'm glad she didn't break it on me honestly, I figured she'd do something like that, but I guess she's still not that clumsy, even when half-dead/hungover.

"You know~Having to support you like this is rather fun~ Maybe you should stop moving altogheter~" Joking this time seemed to work since she's not as dead anymore.

Water really is a miracle solution to anything really. Kinda like hard liquor.

She slowly drank her second glass of water while I got up for a bit and stretched my hands around.

"Say, how did you like the party? I mean, you even got to use your new presents. I'm sure it was pretty neat right?" Nemuri said after she recovered a bit.

"It was great~ Didn't really expect it~ But it was welcome, a nice change from the usual shit I do~ Also, the gold cuffs weren't all that great~ Liked your old purple ones better, matched your hair and all~"

Nemuri just pouted when she heard me complain about my present. But it doesn't really matter. I just felt like adding that since she seemed a bit too smug about everything.

"So~ Who came up with this?~" A question I've been curious about for quite a while. I mean, there hasn't been anything quite like that happen to me before.

"Well... First, it was my idea, but Nezu was the one to actually look into your Birth Day in order to find out. It was a bit hard to find your original one since the Commission made you older in the news to be already 18."

Well, I guess that makes sense. The commission did give me a Hero Identity, kids can't become heroes, at least not fully-fledged ones that act in every city at will.

"Heh~ I never actually bothered remembering it myself~ It was nice though~ I guess I'll have to do something for yours next time...~" Seeing her turn red at this was quite cute. But she proceeded to shake her head dismissively.

"You've done a lot for many people... It wasn't just me, a lot of people wanted the chance to thank you by attending your birthday and celebrating with you. Initially, the Todoroki family, Endeavor's if you weren't paying attention to names, were also going to attend. But a lot of things are going on there right now, so it was simply impossible for them to show up..."

I guess I did notice a distinct lack of Enji there. Not even Shoto was there, so I guess it's about that whole 'Dabi Situation'.

"Well~ No matter~ What are you planning to do today?~" I asked while staring at the rising sun outside.

"Nezu gave us all a break for today preemptively. He figured you'd get everyone drunk and render them unable to work." Why does she have that judgemental gaze when speaking about that?

"Oh, c'mon~ Not like I forced them to drink~ I just provided them the goods~" Damn, that's a phrase I haven't used in a while. It's actually from the days I was peddling 'substances'.

"Yeah, sure thing, mister 'Let's see who enters an alcohol-induced coma first~' You really take advantage of your unnaturally high resistance, don't you?" Hehe, I'd never actually tell them that I am completely immune.

That would make them refuse to drink with me competitively. And yes, it is a sport, and I am a professional drinker now.

Well, I guess I'm also a hero from time to time. Depends on what pays best.

I got a pretty hefty sum from the government for the Meta Liberation Army raid. It was especially large since I played a big role. It's actually more than enough to live the next decade without any worry whatsoever.

"Meh~ I'll go make you some breakfast~ I'd just use my hands and lay on the bed while doing it~ But I really don't want to hear you sass me any longer~" I made the peace sign and warped off into the kitchen.

Honestly, I think I've used this more ever since the two of us started going out. I've likely used it more than she did since she bought this apartment.

Breakfast will be simple, Eggs and Rice. With maybe some bacon, but dry. Nemuri really dislikes oily foods.

The day continued on with the two of us spending some more time together. I also called Toga to see how she ended up. Apparently, she was also hungover, and I also had to warp her a glass of water.

Good times~

I guess I have a lot to look forward to. No need to keep focusing on things I have no control over.

I'll just let nature take its course...
