Ben knew Trick must have had low IQ, but he never knew they would be so low. Evelyn and Cush looked at Ben apologetically from the side. Zoe, however, wasn't in a good place.
Trick was a very good friend of her from the human world, they have completed many missions together and people even knew them as a powerful pair. Ben on the other hand was someone likable and interesting, always able to bring solutions with little to no effort even, even what is considered nearly impossible for his age.
"You need to go talk to him." Ben says towards Zoe.
She nodded, heading into the woods behind them to where Trick had gone through earlier out of anger. When the four left in camp was done with pitching their tents. Ben was sent to get wood for fire.
When he got within the woods he was surprised to notice the area within a hundred metres from the lake was completely dead with nothing but the sound of a swarm of bugs flapping their little transparent wings. From afar it actually sounded like a river was nearby. Taking sometime to calm down he returned.
"Ben, where have you been? Zoe says she has a cool stuff to show us." Ben felt that it should have sounded a bit more enthusiastic if it weren't coming from Sye's raspy voice. The guy was like a broken robot.
"What is it?" Ben replied.
"Dunno yet." they both left to the camp.
Upon reaching there Ben was confused to see everyone sitting round the campfire like they were mourning, yet Sye said it was something cool.
"What's this?" Ben whispered to Sye only to receive a shrug.
"Oh, you're here already. Have a seat." Zoe said to the duo who took their seat, "There's a tradition in my tribe, it tells us that if there's a misunderstanding between two people we should say it to the hearing of the other party. We could also say things that hurts, makes you happy and many more, maybe even random thoughts. It is meant to make everyone know each others misgiving. I just think it will help with our differences." she took out a crystal ball from her storage pouch, it shone with bluish glow within, "okay, I'll start. I have..." Zoe started but was interrupted by Ben.
"Wait!" Ben shouted.
"What now?!" Trick said in a displeased manner.
"Shh, something is coming. And fast." Ben says in a low voice. He was already on his feet, his sword was half way out of its sheath.
"How is that possible? I and Trick have swept our Mindpower all over the place and didn't notice anything." Evelyn said as she stands up.
"Left. Right. Right. This thing is fast, your Mindpower won't be able to catch it. It's going around us!"
Without any command everyone went into a defensive position. They all had their doubts but Ben's seriousness didn't look like a joke. The young man already had his sword drawn and began channeling ice element into the sword.
"What is it?" Cush asks while taking out his broadsword. Sye did the same.
"I don't know, but it's also big." Ben started getting anxious. He could feel the amount of threat this creature poses to the team. And his life!
Hissing sound were coming from every direction and different angles from within the forest. it was like the team was totally surrounded by multiple of these creatures. If it wasn't for Ben being able to hear off-notes in the forest they would think that they had nowhere to go to.
The problem to Ben was, whatever this creature in the woods was, it was giving him a hard time keeping up to its speed. It's hissing sound was meant to distract its target from knowing its exact location, giving it the best chance to give a deadly strike.
"Lucy what's your status?" Ben asked in his head. Like a radar seen in ships or aircraft's Ben saw a red dot moving with extreme speed.
"Subject is moving at 120km/h. Nine metres long and very dangerous."
'120km/h? that's like a mini sports car.' Ben screamed in his head when he heard the figure. There was nothing he could do than warn the rest, "Prepare for battle!" Ben ordered.
"Who the fuck do you think you are to order is like that?" Trick grunted loudly.
"The person who's going to try his best to not let that thing eat you!" Ben shot back.
Every time hissing sounds rang out Ben tries his best to locate the creatures position. His action made the group to turn wherever Ben faced. Naturally, the creature in the woods saw this. Since its target was able to always knew where it was at, at every given time, it was useless to keep hissing.
The creature stopped moving, so did Ben. Silently it tried moving away from its location. Two minutes of total silence ensued yet Ben and those behind him would turn slowly to the left. The creature noticed that even in its stealth mode the group of humans were still pinpointing it's place, and it knew who made it so, the one with the cold element.
The creature had a little intelligence to know who it's threat and main target was, Ben!
Hiss!
A loud hiss rang out right in front of the group. Those with swords tightened their grip, the one with a bow and arrow strung their arrows, the wizards began channeling their magic to accumulating energy.
As they kept watching intensively, a huge white head that looks more like a skull of a lizard without flesh or scales came out of the thick foliage of trees around them. Two sharp, deadly claws that dug six inches deep into the soil followed. The rest of its body was nothing but that of a giant snake with blue scales.
Using its claws to sleet out of the woods it stood on its tail, towering six metres over everyone.
""Attack!!"" Cush and Ben shouted.
"It's a Blue Tazzleworm!" Evelyn, Zoe and Trick shouted in despair. Sye had a look of utter despair and unbridled anger. They were all stunned for a moment.
This was a Tazzleworm, it doesn't matter if it is a Servant-class or Commander-level Tazzleworm. They are one of the most dangerous, slippery, cunning and powerful demon creature when at the Servant-class.
"I said attack!" Ben shouted again.
The sky became filled with elemental attacks of different colours, levels, class and occupation as they bombarded its way towards the Tazzleworm. Unfortunately, what awaits them was only disappointment and a black pit.
Ben tried to listen to the forest with everything he's got, his Mindpower and Lucy's radar was spread out, this is because there is a huge threat before them.
The Tazzleworm is a mid-stage Warrior-level demon creature. The height of a Tazzleworm's bodily strength was nothing to joke about. Even an adult Redstone Bear which is also at the warrior level can't match it. The Tazzleworm was really fast, moving from one place to another as it looked for the perfect opportunity to strike.
*Cackle* *Crackle*
A large lightning orb was formed between Evelyn's hands. She kept channeling her magic as she was also looking for a good strike. She shot the lightning orb that turned into a streak of light landing towards where the Tazzleworm would move to next.
Despite sensing the danger up ahead it wasn't able to escape the lightning in time. The lightning orb landed squarely on its head. Even with that it still didn't die. Evelyn's magic wasn't strong enough to directly kill a Warrior-level creature, at least yet. One thing was for sure, the lightning orb certainly has a very high paralytic effect.
The Tazzleworm showed it's true power. The paralytic effect only lasted for three seconds. With Evelyn's level of magic, if it was any other living thing, it wouldn't be able to even stand, some might even die instantly.
Well, within this three seconds everyone didn't stay idle. They all went on bombarding it with arrows, swordbeams and magic.
Roar!!!
Right when the three seconds time elapsed it roared to the sky. A few of its scales had fallen off allowing blood to flow out. And Zoe with her sharp eyes targeted those gaps, firing arrows into the wounds. The Tazzleworm charged at Zoe with extreme speed. No matter how fast they were, they couldn't help. It smashed it's long sturdy tail towards Zoe.
Evelyn has already spent a great deal of energy on her earlier strike. Trick couldn't do anything since he was an offensive-type wizard, and the rest couldn't attacks fearing they might hit her.
Evelyn gritted her teeth, channeling another magic she slammed her palm on the ground and shouted a chant. Ben knew she spoke in Molta, but the only thing Ben could hear was the last two words, which she shouted clearly. That was just how fast she was.
"...Earth Wave!"
The ground began to ripple. These ripples moved Zoe just two feet away in time. But how can you underestimate the power of that massive tail. The force as it struck the ground sent Zoe flying.
It was a good thing Zoe was saved but Evelyn was in the brink of passing out. Unleashing a powerful spell and using another spell on someone other than yourself drained a lot of magic power and Mindpower.
"Sye! go check on Evelyn and Zoe!" Ben shouted, he then did what everyone would say was stupid. He dashed forward to confront the Tazzleworm.
