Meanwhile

Yami was laying on the Sunny and roaring in pain. They just left Thriller Bark, but they were ravaged by Kuma, the Warlord, and another Vice-Admiral, Vergo. Yami tried but was hit with internal destruction Haki once again, he managed to wound Vergo and knock him away into the ocean, but he was in constant pain.

Kuma took mercy on them and Zoro took all of Luffy's pain as Yami was out of commission while Yachiru was raging on Vergo, her eyes red and her fists black. She nearly drowned him, only to be stopped by Kuma.

Kuma then transferred Luffy's pain to Zoro and left with a battered and bruised Vergo. Yachiru went to Yami and healed him, looking over him every second with pain in her eyes, wishing that she could take it away from him.

She didn't even realize that she subconsciously used Haki on Vergo. Her eyes were only on Yami, they were only for him. She couldn't handle seeing him hurt, she thirsted for strength, she wanted to protect him so badly.

That was a few days ago

That bastard Vergo's internal Destruction was strong, extremely strong. He did specialize in Armament Haki, the crew was battered and bruised as they sailed to Sabaody. They started realizing how much of a bad situation they were in.

Luffy looked at Zoro and Yami, who were still unconscious but in pain. His fists tightened, he didn't like this. They were his friends! They had a new addition in Brooke, a literally skeleton. He grew close to the crew extremely fast, he managed to make Yami actually laugh more than once, which made everyone accept him.

Since the time we last last Yami and co. Franky and Brooke joined the crew, naturally they weren't exceptions to the benefits! Yami had given them both Impurity Cleanses and metal bones. It was literally a god send to Brooke, who was now a silver skeleton, and it was nice for Franky, who now had even more protection on his fleshy body.

Funny thing about Brooke was he benefitted the most from the upgrade. His specialty was Music, he was a musician and naturally he knew about vibrations of sound! His bones were now made of Vibranium.

You can imagine what happened next.

His vibration attacks were devastating. Basically, he would vibrate his bones and make sounds with them, making him able to walk on water, probe the ground using something similar to Echolocation, and project the vibrations out with his soul devil fruit, creating, what he called, 'Musical Madness'.

He even played his violin while doing it, it sounded quite nice when you weren't the target. It was such a high frequency vibration, that it directly shook people to their cores, with enough practice, perhaps he could explode someone's brain!

Yami gave them both a 10 yr token and Robin explained to them what it was. They were stunned and used them right away.

Another thing!

Franky said that he accidently fumbled with a merge token and smashed the Merry and the Sunny together while making the Sunny. What happened was, the Merry portion merged with a new Merry type boat, that was much smaller, while the extra space enhanced the existing galley, etc.

Making the new ship, just like the upgraded Merry, while the Mini Merry, was the same as before, only bigger and with a smaller interior space. Their entire life was magical now, and yet they still got pummeled by Warlords and Vice-Admirals, for Luffy this was frustrating, the rest thought so too.

When Yami and Zoro woke up, they had 3 new passengers and were currently sailing to Sabaody. Apparently, Yami missed a fight with some bounty hunters but the crew dispatched them easily. There was no need for Yami or Zoro to act, Yachiru had been venting on anyone who happened to unfortunately cross their path.

Yami gave Yachiru and the rest a piece of hi Vivre Card because he felt a bad feeling as soon as he woke up. Like something bad was going to happen. The rest too it without any questions and Brooke got advice from Zoro and Yami on the Breathing techniques, being a swordsskeleton himself.

Yami was mostly recovered after dozens of healing potions, curtesy of Yachiru. Zoro got his too and they sailed off. Yachiru pulled Yami to a secluded part of the ship as she said with concern "Love, are you okay? Be honest with me." Yami smiled lovingly and said "Yes, Ruru. I am, thanks to you." she smiled but there was a hint of sadness and tears pooled near her eyes as she replied "Yami... I really don't like seeing you hurt. It really hurts me."

Yami caressed her cheek and said "I'm not dead, am I?" she sobbed and said "But... I never do anything! I feel so weak!" Yami was stunned and hugged her as she sobbed, he stroked her back and said "Don't. You're not weak at all, Ruru. You're the love of my life. I just need to get stronger, that's all." she cried "You're always taking everything upon yourself! Share your pressure and burden with me! I hate it when you do that! I really, really, really hate it!"

Yami fell silent and held her cheeks, saying "Yachiru..." she grabbed his hands and cried "I hate it! I hate seeing you hurt! I hate being able to do nothing about it! I feel useless! You don't share with me! You just suffer alone! I don't want that! I want to go through everything with you! Even suffering! Why can't you understand?!"

Yami didn't know what to say, she collapsed onto his chest and beat on it, saying "Promise me! Promise me, you'll share with me! If you're suffering, at least we'll suffer together! Share your burdens with me! PROMISE ME, YAMI!" Yami looked at her and picked up her hands, he intertwined his fingers with hers and touched his forehead with hers as he said "Yachiru... I don't want you to suffer."

She retorted in grief "I don't care! Promise me or bring me back! Seeing you in pain is making me hurt so bad! Please... Yami, please. I love you with everything I have, I want you to love me the same way." he replied gently "I do, Ruru. I do..."

He picked up her chin and said "Look at me." she opened her puffy red eyes and looked into his gentle gaze as he said softly "I love you so much. You have no idea. I..." he sighed and looked at her sadly "I... I promise, Ruru. I promise, just stand by my side forever. Can you promise me that? With you by my side, I feel like I can do anything!"

She teared up and sniffed "En! I promise, baby! I promise!" she cried and kissed him deeply with wet, tear stained, lips. Yami closed his eyes and hugged her close and they both flashed white, feeling a connection deeper than anything else in the entire world.

The ship slowly sailed to Sabaody with high tension as a foreboding atmosphere feel over the Archipelago.
