It's been two months since Eve and Victor had settled in the remote cottage. For some, isolation was the worst torture, but for them, it was something to cherish. Eve couldn't imagine someone like Celina, chatty and people-seeking, to wish to live a life like that one, but she herself loved it.
Of course, part of it was because of Victor. Another part was because of the company her na-bots and Klein the bear provided.
Eve had been sitting on the house's porch, thinking about all this and enjoying the cool breeze and fresh air, when Victor came out of the house with the last words she ever expected to hear.
"Someone is approaching on a car."
"What?" Eve jumped to her feet and made quick calculations in her head.
