Chapter 9 - First Phase start/Timeskip

(I Changed my mind on removing the skill suggestion Chapter, i cant remember everything you guys suggested so it might as well be there when the time comes)

[ MC's POV ] {Timeskip}

<16h/15m/30s till First Phase begins...>

Scáthach and I, were sitting together in the living room couch, watching news on the T.V, while Sans was sitting on the floor of the living room.

"It's interesting to know that you're not sleeping and lazing around at this time Sans, color me impressed..." I told Sans who was Half asleep and Half awake.

"It's not that I don't want to sleep kid, I just get this feeling that this world of yours is going to have a Bad Time soon," Sans responded with his usual laid back tone.

"Hey... Sans was it? If it isn't so rude to ask but how is a skeleton like you moving? Better yet, what are you made of?" Scáthach asked Sans curiously.

"Don't worry kid, even Zahard over there asked me that question," Said Sans as he pointed his finger towards me.

"As for your question, I am able to move even as a skeleton because of my soul, I have this feeling that I have a lot of different souls inside me but that's just a gut feeling, not that i have any guts literally heh..." Sans paused for a bit after he joked and said, "As for what I'm made of... Well... I am made of LOVE."

Sans seemed like he was hesitating to say the final part, he still hasn't gotten over that human girl who i probably already know who it is but I am going to keep quiet for the sake of sans.

"LOVE? I don't get it... What do you mean LOVE?" Scáthach asked Sans again.

Sans stood up from the floor and began to head back to his room before waving his hand at us and saying, "You won't get it kid... You will never..."

"Huh... Strange... The LOVE he claimed that he was made of, was different from the Love we know... It was like, that love he said he was made of, was gathered from killing..." Scáthach said quietly, but it was still loud enough for Zahard to hear it.

"Who knows? Just leave it like that Scáthach, it's better if we don't dig deeper into that by asking Sans," I told Scáthach.

"Seems like what he went through before shaped him into what he is right now... Laid back, Lazy, Caring, Cold-blooded, Cruel, and... Kind?" Scáthach said while she looked like shocked with the last part.

"Let's just end it like that Scáthach, Do you want me to cook some Fried Rice for you?" I said as I went to the kitchen.

"Sure, why not?" Scáthach focused on listening to the news again.

<5h/10m/20s till First Phase begins...>

Scáthach was sleeping in her room while im still in the living room, I was waiting for the First Phase to begin... I couldn't help but be restless, there's still 5 hours left till it starts.

While I was staring into space, Sans came out of his room and slowly Crept up behind my back and said...

"HOLY SHIT! WHO'S THERE?!" I jumped off the couch by instinct and pulled ||Night's Edge|| from the System Inventory.

"Heh... Heh... Heh... Sorry for scaring you again kid, you're just too tense and restless for me to not resist the temptation and scare you heh..." Sans said as he sat down the couch.

"God damn it Sans! I swear... One of these days im going to beat your ass," I said, clearly irritated by what Sans just did. I wouldn't beat his ass though, he only has 1 HP after all... Not that I have the ability to hit him even once unlike Chara.

"Heh... I'm waiting kid... So what's happening? Why are you so tense and restless today?" Sans said with his usual laid back tone.

"This world's doom is just around the corner, not that you'll care after all," I shrugged.

"Heh... How do you know me so well kid? That's true though, I won't care about anything if its not related to my friends," Sans said casually.

"I suppose it is safe to assume that I'm one of those friends eh? Hahahaha" I jokingly asked Sans.

"Considering that you pulled me out of that hellish nightmare then, Yes... Yes you are one of them," Sans said.

"Heh... I'm flattered, hahahaha" I laughed.

"Heh..." Sans said.

<30s till First Phase begins...>

Here it is... The last 30 seconds...

[ Doomsday First Phase: Solar Flare is now underway, please do not go outside host... ]

"Based from your Reaction just now, It started didn't it kid?" Sans asked as he was watching the T.V which suddenly blacked out.

"Yep, It is now happening Sans... The Solar Flare has come... We only need to wait for 30 seconds till its done and it will be safe to go outside again... For now, that is..." I told sans while saying the last part quietly, it didn't escape Sans' empathy though.

"Heh... For now eh?" said Sans.

"Yeah... For now... I suppose I could use that to restock our food supply and buy some materials for the bunker," I told Sans.

"Hold on kid... What is a bunker?" Sans asked me.

"Oh, I forgot you didn't know that, It's basically a home underground, and we live on a bunker, almost all humans live on the surface though, I just want to stay here hahahaha" I answered Sans' question.

"A Home Underground eh? Brings back memories... Not a terrible one... Just a peaceful memory..." Sans said as he once again went back to his room where i assume he's going to sleep again.

'System, When will the next Phase and final begin?'

[ Doomsday Final Phase: Mystical Rain, will begin in approximately 6d/22h/1m/30s. ]

"A week eh? I suppose that is indeed a head start for the humans, the only problem is whether they'll discover it and hone it, before the final phase happens." I muttered.

"Ah! I forgot to do one last thing before going to sleep!" I suddenly remembered something important that i almost forgot.

"System, use ||Character Card: SCP-999|| - 1x"

[ Y/N? ]

"Yes"

The same Golden Card from before floated right in front of me, but I already took precautions for it, so I took my sunglasses from my inventory, Heh....

The Golden Card then began to shine brightly, and unfortunately the sunglasses mysteriously broke so I was forced to close my eyes again.

I closed my eyes till i heard the System say....

[ Congratulations! Summoning Successful! ]

I slowly opened my eyes to see an orange slime with cute black spherical eyes with what looks like a cute tiny pair of arms reaching for me.

Of course being me.... I embraced it, which the orange slime reciprocated.

The Orange slime happily gurgled as I hugged it, although I didn't hug it for too long lest it gets attached to me... Which was already too late as the cute cuddly orange slime climbed into my shoulder and began nuzzling its body on me.

(A/N: I wasn't sure if I should use rubbing or nuzzling, so I settled with nuzzling, tell me if saying rubbing is better though.)

I then laid down on my bed to sleep with the cute orange slime in my embrace.

And just like that, 3 days have passed since then..

'System, What's the countdown for the final doomsday phase'

[ Doomsday Final Phase: Mystical Rain will begin in approximately: 3d/13h/27m/10s ]

"3 days eh? Time flew by so fast..."

I spent all 3 days hanging out with Scáthach and Sans, but mostly Scáthach, Sans was mostly sleeping everyday.

I also restocked our food supply before just to make sure, the government went wild the day after the Solar Flare as no one expected it.

The reported death toll was just as what the System predicted, 3 billion deaths from all around the world.

I also bought the rest of the materials for the bunker upgrade except for the radiation requirement, I don't know where I'm supposed to get that.

And just 2 days after the Solar Flare, the news about humans gaining powers after the Solar Flare was spreading like a wildfire, even the news channels are broadcasting it. Seems like the Government Isn't as bad as I thought it would be, looks like something helpful for humanity like mysterious powers suddenly appearing after the Solar Flare are something they would willingly share. Well played Government... Well played... I still don't like the government though, heh...

Sans also saw the news and was amused by how humans suddenly gained powers from the Solar Flare, he said something about how humans gaining powers will also be a problem for humans.

I couldn't argue with Sans though as it was most definitely true, humans are born greedy. If given power, that greediness will surpass even their morals and begin to crave for more... Something like that will also cause the downfall of mankind... Most of them die before they get more power though for some reason.

There was also this one scenario when Scáthach and Sans saw SCP-999 on top of my head. Sans was asking about if the slime on my head was a new hotdog sauce, meanwhile Scáthach snatched SCP-999 from my head and went back to her own room. I told Sans that it was a slime but he still insisted on it being a hotdog sauce for 4 more hours.

Scáthach seemed to get over the Shiba Inu as SCP-999 replaced the dog, speaking of Shiba Inu... I wonder where it went...

Eh... Who cares, it's already lost.

During the 3 days, I also used the Gacha roll one time and did the goddess of luck bless me as it gave me a ||Enhanced Nuclear Reactor|| boy is this more than enough for the radiation part on my bunker.

I decided to upgrade the bunker later though, I highly doubt upgrading the bunker wouldn't make a loud commotion, Sans and Scáthach are sleeping in their individual rooms after all...

And now we are in the present...

Sans is sleeping on his room meanwhile Scáthach and I, get to spend more time together, by watching movies on the T.V together, playing games on the PS4 together, we mostly play Smash Bros though, Sans also occasionally joins us on playing Smash Bros but he only uses his character in the game.

I asked Sans why he only uses his character on the game and his reasoning was, "Because it looks so dumb that it's funny, do you know that I can't put my Gaster Blaster in my hand? Heheheh...."

Scáthach has become a little bit more open around me as she is starting to show her emotions a bit more and she isn't trying to hide them anymore, which is what I exactly call progress.

I decided to upgrade the bunker after eating lunch with Scáthach and Sans, so I cooked our food for lunch, I made myself a salad, I made Scáthach my specialty which is making Spaghettis, and I made Sans the same good'ol hotdogs.

Sans also said something along the line of, "You remind me of my brother Paps, he also likes to cook spaghetti like you do, the only difference is the spaghetti is frozen on a thick and unbreakable Ice.

I told Scáthach and Sans that i'm going to upgrade the bunker today, Sans just took it as part of my powers, or more like he is too lazy too care as its nothing dangerous.

'System, Upgrade the Bunker.'

[ Do you want to upgrade the bunker host? ]

[ Y/N? ]

'Yes'

[ Bunker upgrading completion in: 23h/59m/30s ]

And i was right, the moment i began to upgrade the bunker, the bunker shook and then soon stopped.

I told Sans that it's alright now and it will be done in 1 day, which he was already at his room sleeping before i finished tell him that.

And so the 3 days passed by so fast and now its already the 4th day with only 2 days left till the Second Phase.

I thought this day will be peaceful, but fate had an opposite thought...
