There were enough carriages in Grape Town that the half beast warriors were able to pull all of the gold, wine, food, and furniture won in the war back to Fenglin. There were not enough personal attendants around Lynn so instead of having a waiter manage Grape, he gave control over to Lanno with ten half beast warriors.
"What I need for you is to let the commoners live normally and to cultivate more vineyards," Lynn started to say Lanno. "Let the grapes grow normally until next year. Can you do this?"
"Master Lynn, please send a housekeeper to manage the territory. I am not qualified for this task."
"You will be my steward from today onwards," stated Lynn. "I will leave ten half beast warriors to protect the territory along with some carrier pigeons. If you have any questions, please inform me in a timely manner."
Lanno could not refuse, so he only knelt to the ground.
"May I live up to your expectations, Lord Lynn," he said.
Lynn nodded and turned around to take his things away. He left ten warriors to go back to the barracks to choose their favorite beds. Five of them then went on patrol while five others went to sleep. They were a very trained bunch. A commoner walked up to Lanno and asked him a question since he could not understand the situation.
"Master Lynn has given you the territory with that much confidence? Isn't he afraid of your betrayal?"
Lanno smiled bitterly.
"Master Lynn did not mention betrayal because he was not worried about it at all. Kum… Grape Town has been breached once already, so he could do it a hundred times more if he wanted. If we dared to betray him, we would end up dead."
The civillians all took a deep breath.
"Master Lynn did not plunder any of our property and has let us maintain our previous lives," Lanno persuaded. "Do not think too much about it. We only need to obey his orders and we will be safe."
All of the civillains agreed. None of the nobles ever treated common people as human beings. After a city was broken into, it was common to be plundered, burned, and killed. The beautiful women would be taken away and treated as playthings. However, Lynn did not treat this town that way. This feeling of indifference towards them made the civilians feel safe and willing to obey Lynn.
Lynn had taken all of the goods that he felt were worthy of being transported and arrived at Maple Leaf City after two days. Lucy was waiting for Lynn at the entrance of the city and upon seeing Lynn safely coming back, she trotted over and threw herself into Lynn's arms in view of everyone.
"Good, you are okay," she said to him.
Lynn gently touched her beautiful and soft silver hair.
"I am okay. Let us go home and hold each other there," he said.
Lucy loosened her hug obediently. After she confirmed that Lynn was uninjured and embraced him, she decided to look at what Lynn had looted. Lynn motioned for the warriors to open a box, and instantly Lucy saw a plentiful amount of gold coins. She was shocked.
All of the attendants, a few soldiers, and some caravans from Maple Leaf City who had come to meet Lynn were instantly stunned. This… How many gold coins were there? They thought. Lynn ordered all of his newly acquired items to be taken back to the Fenglin Castle.
Maple Leaf's castle was now barren, so Lynn asked Rau to live in it. Yet, he disagreed. Frost Maple only had one lord, and that was Lynn En. Only he was eligible to live in the castle. Rau bought a two story house that was nearby the castle to live in.
Once he got back to the castle, Lynn took a shower and changed into some clean clothes. Then, he went to the restaurant on the first floor where the attendants were waiting. Lucy was sitting beside Rau while waiting for Lynn. When he sat down, Lucy smiled happily and got close to him. All of the attendants bowed to Lynn.
"Kumori has been captured and renamed to Grape. Starting today, it will be my territory ruled by a person called Lanno."
The attendants listened quietly without a single comment, so Lynn continued.
"Rau, I will leave you with one thousand gold coins. You will be responsible for buying food that can be stored well as the warriors will continue to increase."
"Yes, Lord Lynn. Your potions and wine have attracted more caravans, so we should have plenty of opportunities to buy food."
"You can also buy more slaves, as many as needed," Lynn added.
"Understood."
"Has the enemy's equipment been recovered?" Lynn questioned Buno.
"Collection of the equipment has been completed. There are also one hundred horses that have survived the war, and they have been taken to Frost Maple."
"Give all of the equipment to the blacksmiths along with commissions," Lynn ordered. "Let them recast them into more suitable tools of war for the half beast fighters."
"I have contacted the blacksmiths. They want seventy gold coins with a thirty five gold deposit. Then, they can smelt us seven hundred sets of weapons for the warriors."
"Well done. Just do as they say. The horses will be brought to Fenglin. It happens that transportation of materials is too slow for people to do by themselves. Horses are needed."
"Buy some horses and other necessary supplies," Lynn ordered Rau. "If there are other suitable stuff, do not ask me and just buy them too."
"Yes, Lord Lynn."
"You all performed well," Lynn nodded to the attendants. "Each of you shall receive ten gold coins. Receive them from Rau later. Rau, count eleven hundred gold and send it to them later on. Also, I got some good wine. Give five pounds per person."
The attendants became overjoyed and became grateful to Lynn. They vowed to never betray Lynn until the day they died. Lynn was also in a good mood. There was no need to fuss about gold anymore. It was so fun!If you want to support this book, pls go to f-w-o.com
